Looking to get a CPO 2014 528 or 535
Hey everyone, I am currently in market for a 2014 CPO 528 or 535. Being in SoCal I can pick up a CPO 528 for around 25-27k or 535i for 30-32k. I have had 2 F10 550i's, both M-Sport one was 2012 and one was 2013. The 2013 I leased and the 2012 I ended up buying after I returned the leased one because I got a really good deal on it. Unfortunately, the 2012 ended up getting totaled back in December. I have a lot of money invested in new start up and ended up leasing a 2017 Honda Accord SE. I like the car but it is just not doing it for me. It's great for daily use but man is it boring to drive. I pay exactly $300 for it and put $500 down so trading in I'm not losing much except those $500 and probably 1-2k on the trade which I'll cover out of pocket. I can get excellent financing through USAA or Navy Fed so payment difference will be $100-200 monthly which I can handle no problem. Now my question is, are there any major issues with either of these 2? Which one is more reliable? Is it worth it paying the couple grand extra for CPO? My aunt has a e60 528 and has nothing but problems with it. Other relative have no problems what so ever with their bmws. My 550s were very solid with no major issues. The 2012 one was extra thirsty for oil and that's pretty much it. Also anyone from LA or San Diego can recommend me a dealer? I had a hook up at BMW Encinitas but lately they seem to be getting greedy. Also if getting one that's not CPO, which one would be a better option?
Thanks in advance and looking for your input |

I'd recommend you test drive both 528 and 535. I'm guessing you'll like the 535 more due to you've had the 550 before. CPO is a gamble. It totally depends on if something breaks with the car.
Example, my car was about to end its original warranty so I bought an extended warranty via the dealership. Two months later, my car start leaking oil. The dealer took my car for a week (gave me an X3 rental) and replaced pretty much everything that could have leaked. The cost of this one repair covered the price of the warranty. and now I have 48k miles still left on it. |

You're gonna miss the power stepping down. If its for DD then go 528, but if your gonna want more power by modding go 535. BMWs eat oil, period so don't make that the reason. I would try to hold off for another 550 IMO.

I got a good deal from Crevier in Santa Ana...
The F&E guy was very NO pressure. I said I didn't want XXX and he moved on. Quite a nice experience. |
