Thumbs up Picked up a '16 528i for the wife!

Hello all! New to the F10 forum, but definitely not new to BMW. My wife's '14 X1 lease was just about up and she saw this '16 528i on the lot at the dealer and loved it. So we made the swap. She LOVES the car! If it was mine I would have got an M-Sport, but she likes the smoother ride and more "luxurious look" of the "Luxury Line". I've got my M-Coupe for my silly shenanigans.

Anywho...just thought I'd share. No mods planned for her car except I want to get rid of the orange front reflectors and tint the windows.

I'll get some better photos when it stops raining here in CA. Specs are:
- 2016 BMW 528i "Luxury Line"
- Mineral Grey (seems like a rare color for the 5 I guess)
- Black Dakota interior
- Premium Package
- Driver Assistance Package (LOVE the HUD)
- Heated Front Seats
- Blind Spot Detection
- Automatic High Beams
- M Sport Steering Wheel

Nice ride. I see BMW is getting into the chrome trimming on the front and rear bumper.

Apparently in 2016 the Luxury Line gets the M-Sport steering wheel. Seems a bit odd...but heck, its an awesome wheel so works for me! My wife loves it as well actually.

The Luxury comes with 18" wheels. I think they are pretty decent looking...obviously nothing compared to some of the ones you guys are rocking on this board though!

Yeah, the Luxury Line adds a few extra chrome bits. I'm generally not a fan of chrome, but I think it is fairly tastefully done in this case. I prefer the blacked out look of the M-Sport, but it does give the F10 perhaps a little more 7 series (F01) resemblance?

So I looked up my VIN on a VIN decoder website and I noticed a couple interesting things about the car's build. It shows the following on the car...yet according to the BMWUSA.COM build site, you can't select these options separately. So maybe it was a custom order?

- 710 M LEATHER STEERING WHEEL
* No stand alone option on bmwusa.com for this, only part of M-Sport Line.
- 5AG LANE CHANGE WARNING
* No stand alone option on bmwusa.com for this, only shows as part of Driver Assistant Plus which our car doesn't have.
- 5AC AUTOM. HIGH-BEAM HEADLIGHTS CONTROL
* No stand alone option on bmwusa.com for this, only shows as part of Lighting Package which our car doesn't have.
- 5AP DECODING FOR NO-DAZZLE HIGH-BEAM AS
* Goes along with the above option.
- Upholstery LEDER DAKOTA/SCHWARZ EXKLUSIVNAHT (LCLZ)
* Selecting Dakota leather on the bmwusa.com removes the Luxury Line, only shows Luxury Line as having Nappa.
Odd!

On a separate note, the car is at the dealer today getting a full new car detail (was pouring on the day we got it) as well as getting a software upgrade to fix the trunk not always opening all the way (a known issue with some 2016s). I also asked them to code the car to auto-unlock the door when the car is turn off...not sure if they will do that, but worth a shot.

So I was right about the steering wheel then?

Maybe! Although, if you select the Luxury line on bmwusa.com, the picture of the interior shows the M wheel. But all the other Luxury Lines on the dealer lot I saw have the standard wheel. It's a mystery I guess!

Congrats on the new car.
Tints are a great idea. I have that done to my F10. I've got 5% limo on the back and 35% on the front.
I'm definitely going for M-Sport next time.
