Drivers Seat Lumbar Noise (2014 550)

All -

Thanks for any help.

I have a small issue....when I start up my car (2014 550) there is a loud noise from the lumbar inflating in the drivers seat.

Has anyone else experience the same (I'm sure...but can't seem to find it in search)?

And if so, is there an easy solution?

I will bring to the dealer at some point, but would be happy to fix myself even though its under warranty (i.e. if it is a 30 second...no cost...I rather not waste time at dealer).

Thanks again.

Are you sure that the noise isn't the side bolsters re inflating? They deflate when you exit to make it easier to exit and enter, then re inflate when you start it.

No, you are actually correct. I said lumbar, but I think it is the side bolsters. Any ideas on how to fix to get rid of the noise?

I don't know how to keep them from doing that. I look forward to hearing the noise and the car giving me a "welcome back embrace" with the bolsters when I start it.

If you leave them as wide as they can go all of the time they probably wouldn't move and make the noise, but then you have no bolster support. It's not a thing for the dealer to"fix" because if you hear the noise they are working as they should.

No, unless it is making more than just inflation noises.

ggoodlife , does it make a "fart" noise?
I know that there was some issues with a few of the 2014 F15 X5.
The dealer ended up fixing that. Supposedly they grease it up, but don't quote me on that.

Oh, that's funny. (As long as it doesn't happen to mine)

Yes. That is probably the best way to describe the noise.

It is more than just them inflating. In fact whenever some one rides in the car with me and hears the noise they usually comment......

I probably requires a trip to the dealer, I've just been tied up during hours the dealer is available.

Ggoodlife, did you get it fixed yet? I have the exact same issue with the driver seat.

Reviving an old thread.

My seats have been doing this for as long as I remember and I've learned to live with it - don't even notice it 99% of the time. It's when someone gets in my car that that I have to hear about it.

Has anyone tried tackling this themselves and how did you resolve it?
