Dinan Stage 1 Suspension vs H&R Springs
Hello everyone, I am comparing the Dinan Stage 1 Suspension versus the H&R Sport Springs.
Dinan likes: Quality Ride quality not compromised (plush ride) Bump Stoppers H&R likes: 1.4 in. drop in front 1.3 in. drop in rear Cheaper Dislikes on both: Dinan: all that money for 1/2 in. drop?!?!? H&R: ride quality compromised What's your take on this? If I go with the H&R springs, will the ride quality on my F10 M-Sport really be compromised a lot? I like the plush ride, but I also like the drop look. On a side note: I have the EDC on my car... Thanks in advance, F10 HRE |

Thanks for your input! What size are your rims on your F10? I'm wondering if it'll rub on my F10 because I have 21's on mine. So, the plush ride isn't compromised eh? |

Why not coilovers? CKS sounds reasonable. How much is Dinan springs btw? Megan also makes coilovers but I dont know about quality yet (doesn't mean bad). KW of course but it's up there.
AC drops more than H&R and runs for about $400- $450. Cheers! |

I hear the KW quality doesn't last long. At least, that's what I heard. I'm looking for a good drop w/o losing too much of the plush ride quality. I heard only a little about AC springs. I never heard of the others that you've mentioned. I have no problem doing the coilovers, but I don't know too much about the ride quality. The Dinan Stage 1 suspension goes for $1,800 on their site... |

CKS, KW and megan have damper adjustment so you can go from super stiff to stock-like ride.
I have H&R and ride quality is not compromised, it's also pretty high, just a bit lower than stock. If I was budgeting $1800 for suspesion (parts) I'd go CKS. Or find a deal on KW, I've heard of people getting KWs for less than $2000. |

I have the stock 19's that came with the sport package. There's other people on here with 21's and I don't think they're having issues with rubbing. Any pics of your car? My wife hasn't complained about the ride so I know it's still good. If it wasn't, she would be the first to complain. I've used H&R and Eibach before on my other vehicles and they were both comfortable with virtually no compromise in ride comfort.

I just posted some pics of my car. Ha! You're right about the wifey. If there were any change in comprise of the ride quality, they would definitely tell us! I think I may have seen you recently at Qualcom Stadium. Check your inbox. I "private message" you... F10 HRE |

Thank you for the comparison. This will help me make the final decision on H&R vs. KW Variant V1 Coilovers. Another member, indicated the H&R (like stock) springs have a floating feeling at high speed and the springs take a bit of self-seating after hard dips/cornering. Have you experience these?

I've had H&Rs, RDs, and ACS, and ACS are the best. From lowest to highest drop --- H&Rs, RDs, ACS. The H&Rs ride terrible with my 550i's adjustable suspension. The RDs ride much better, but the ACS seem like they were made for the car and the susension.
