Jb4 stage 2 f10 535i 2 different models?

Hey everyone...

So I've been trying to purchase a jb4 stage 2 for my f10 n55....

I've contacted a few members on here and they've sent me images of a square shaped jb4 they were using on their 535's....

Online however, the jb4 is rectangular in shape....

Did it come in a different shape before or am I getting the wrong model?

I've attached pics

It did came in more narrow width before. This one is the newest version but same as stage 2 power level wise. New jb4 does not require positaps to connect to canbus wires. I thin the board is same. But new has more feature since harness wiring has been changed.

There are three versions of the JB4, at least for the F10 550, and I assume for the other models. There is a stage1, stage 2 and stage 2 BETA, which allows control via OBDII interface.

The JB4 comes in a plastic 4x4, maybe a 5x5 box. If you put some silicone sealant on the edges, it is pretty weather proof under the hood.

BMS now sells an OPTIONAL Metal, rectangular box for 59.00. It has a rubber gasket that runs the entire rim of the housing and seals the ecu, AND it connections, within the weatherproof seal. I will probably purchase this housing once winter comes, although I ran the plastic box all last winter with no issues.

So you have a plastic square box that comes with their JB4 ecus and then you have the aluminum housing as an option. They may be shipping the newest versions of their chips in the aluminum housing now, but I would contact Jon at BMS and ask him, or their service department about this fact.

I would recommend spending the extra money if it is still an option. I would also recommend mounting it to the left side of the blower housing with sticky butal rubber. There is enough clearance between the hood strut and the Blower housing to insert the JB4 ecu housing.
