Change standard front lights?

Is it possible to change the standard front lights bulbs to give a bit more of a white effect?

Thanks

Philips Diamond Vision should do what you want but I'd be inclined to go Philips Xtreme because at least that way you will be able to see more than from the standard headlights even if the Xtremes aren't 'white' lights.

Hi, adding to this, which bulbs do I need to change, are they H7's type that are fitted under the bay under the bonnet, or the bulbs you have to replace via the front wheel well?

My problem is mainly low beam on my Halogens, they are terrible and you can hardly see the road and object on each side of the road... thanks

The headlights are replaced through the wheel arches and the main beam are the ones you access under the bonnet.

It's a bit fiddly but only a 10 minute job. You don't need totale the wheels off, just turn them to full lock to make more room. The screwdriver in the car's toolkit is a perfect fit.

Good luck.

It's stupid that a £30k + car does not have xenons as standard as halogens are so shite.

Thanks... so it is the same H7 type for low and high beam... (it's just that I have seen low beam and high bean H7's advertised... but I read on this forum that it is the optics/voltage and angle in the housing that determine whether it is a high or low beam

Voltage? All bulbs are 12v and in halogen cars the high and low beam are both H7. It's simply the postion within the parabolic reflector that changes the beam pattern.

Definately not plug and play. Do you already have xenons? If not you will need:

* headlamp washers
* level sensor, front
* level sensor, rear

You will then need the LKM coding for xenon lights

For the adaptive to work you will need:

* Steering angle sensor
* HBA light sensor
* HBA rear-view mirror housing
* LKM coding

It aint going to be cheap.

Just replaced all 4 bulbs on my car. I went for Philips X-treme 100%. Just hope they are an improvement. Also I'd like to meet the muppet that designed the front end access.

+1, the access through wheel well was designed for monkeys with small hands

Installed these over the weekend... main bean ones took 2 minutes... low-beam took about 15 mins each, what a PITA ! Such a small diameter entry space....

I noticed the stock bulbs are basic Osrams... consigned them to the bin.

The new ones are brilliant! Give a great white beam, and I can actually see it now and it lights up the road very, very well.... worth the cost and time...

(eBay from Upgrade Bulbs company)
