M5 Exhaust retrofit on 535i
Need some technical insight. Will the exhaust system from a 2012 M5 fit on a
2012 535I? any gain in sound and performance? Thanks in advance. |

I'm sure it can be done but the sound won't result won't even be close.
1. A 6 cyl doesn't compare to the sound of an 8. 2. Even the n63 on a 550 won't sound like an M5 because of the way exhaust intersects. Its like a Honda with a fart can exhaust vs the wrx flat 4. 2 different ways the exhaust gas exits. So a 6 vs 8 vs 550 vs M5 are too many variables to overcome to get it to sound even close. Performance gains for the N55? Doubt it. It will look super cool.

Sound yes, performance no.
It's a nice upgrade considering the price of a used set of M5 mufflers. With the flaps open, you can definitely hear a difference. With the flaps closed, it'll sound like your stock 535i. |
