Continental Contiwintercontact or Nokian WR D3
I am confused about what to go for my next set of winter tyres, was happy with my Vredestein Wintrac Xtreme but never put to the test really as it hardly snowed in the last 2 years, and reading the Auto Express (Auto bild) reviews they come last! specially with the wet conditions the one condition I look for the most as it is pretty wet in the west of Ireland.
Hence can anyone advise on the Dunlop winter sport, Continental Contiwintercontact or Nokian WR D3 for the F10 running on R18 wheels. From what I am reading on the net the Conti not as good in snow, the AutoExpress review was for the 850 Conti i.e. not the 810 that fit the F10’s and was certainly the opposite what I am reading on private reviews. Very confusing for sure. Cost not an issue as they tend to be around the same price. Thanks in advance for your feedbacks |

I've heard nothing but good things about Nokian winter tires. I ran Dunlop Winter Sports on my 335i and M3, they were good tires, I believe Nokian perform better though.

Thanks folks, interesting as Nokian was 3rd in my list mainly because in Ireland just like the UK when down to winter tyres, snow performance is important but 2nd to performance with rain and wet conditions as it tend to be mainly the case and snow not always around for winters, I just checked the WD4, impressive A ratings for wet conditions and the 1st ever to get the A, all the test I was referring to including Auto Express recent one consisted of older Nokian tyres. I guess WD4 is the way to go. Thanks again.
