528 F10 N20 Dual Exhaust
Quick Question.
Considering Installing a dual exhaust system on my 528 but Have a couple Questions for the experts. It will be a True Dual exhaust system, and I am also considering since I will be in there Installing a Catless Down Pipe as well. My concern is will this cause any problems with the N20? I cannot find any definitive answers online in any of the forums or anything. The Emissions test won't be a problem in my state. The set up would be a AFE Dry Filter Replacement, Megan Exhaust Dual, and a Evo Racewerks 4 Inch Down pipe and a JB4 Tune. Thanks |

I do not see any drawback for this downpipe & exhaust combination from articles in the internet
It seems good as the downpipe can compensate the power loss at the lower end due to installation of the exhaust Last edited by fung0001; 01-13-2015 at 06:47 AM.. |

Apart from CEL and possible drivetrain malfunction faults you mean
Without a cat you will get a CEL and some also experience drivetrain malfunction message with reduced power. |

Good setup in my opinion . Catless Downpipes might give you a hard time with keeping you warranty ( JB4 can be easily removed before your visit , intake and exhaust will not void your warranty )

Does catted down pipe makes any difference in terms of keeping warranty ?

By law catted or catless will not void your warranty unless they directly cause a component failure. It might be easier to get by with catted downpipes since they looks similar to stock, that being said they can also give you a hard time for the catted version as well. I had FBO car with catless downpipes with warranty and never had any problems . As i said earlier it all depends on your dealership.

I have all of your planned mods installed except for the DP. I say start from the easy bolt-on first - JB4, intake, and exhaust. Better yet, work on the right bucket mod before doing the dual exhaust you are planning. When the mod addiction kicks-in and you are itching for the DP, go for it and the JB4 will take care of the CEL.
Don't forget to plug the vacuum hose from your exhaust also. If not, it will give you the Drivetrain Malfunction. Few pictures and details for the products mentioned: http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=929686 |
