Okay so I need some advice. I have a 2014 535d and my warranty maintenance ends when i hit 50k miles. Would you guys get the extended maintenance from the dealership? I know the choice is sometimes is preference related but I'm not sure how much more the maintenance is on the diesels if i didn't get the extended warranty.

I didnt extend warranty... and have had EGR cooler fail (even though it went in to the dealer during warranty for diesel smell in cabin and they said it wasn't cracked)

and I think front wheel bearing also have failed as I get noises that point me to that... slightly annoying....

My E39 has done 300K now and only recently changed clutch!

Probably not needed. All the emissions stuff that fail normally already have extended warranty from them for 10yr/120k. Talk to BMW NA and find out.

Extended warranties vary in cost and coverage, get a good one, you'd going to need it on anything ending with a D.
