Installed BMS Stage 1

I finally got around to installing my BMS stage 1 tune. Prior tothe install I used the USB cable and bumped the boost from +3.5 to +4.5.

Install:
Getting to 3 of the 4 plugs was rather simple, but that 2nd plug is a pain in the ass, I suggest removing the airbox and you will save a tremendous amount of time, stress and skin from the top of your hand. Aside from that the install went smoothly. Fired the car up, no codes or issues what so ever.

Diving impression:
I was only able to make a couple hard pulls but there is a very noticable difference in power. I am going to give the tune a couple days to adapt and report back. But so far this tune is definitely worth the $380
Since I have the USB cable, I plan on doing some logs later down the road to see how the car is reacting to the tune.

Hey RambleJ,
I too just installed mine about a month ago. How hard is it to change the boost settings? I have been thinking about it for a few weeks now but I didnt get the USB cable. Whats the default boost? Is it 2.75 or 3.5?

The USB cable is definitely worth it, not only does it allow you to change some of the settings on the tune but you also have access to do some datalogging to make sure you car is running effeciently.
The stock setting on the tune I received showed 3.5 on the BMS software.

I am not too sure, if I do any other updates I will just bring my laptop out to my car and make the adjustments there.

Default boost over stock should be 3.0psi, you received a unit with default 3.5psi?

The link you provided is for the N20 tune (328/528). Which is why you are seeing 3.0 over stock.

I just installed the stage 1 and took it around the block, let the car warm up and jumped on it, very noticeable. I have a 6MT in sport mode, I did notice in second around 4000 rpm It seemed to starve for fuel, it feels like hitting the rev limiter. Has anyone else felt this in second gear?

Haven't experienced this. Could be because your car is still adapting to the tune.

Hello RambleJ,

I just received my USB and been reading up on it, have you run any logs yet? Currently I'm running stage 1 stock settings, so running boost 4.5 is running well for you? Do you have a manual 6 speed or auto? Did you change any other settings? thanks....

I have not ran any logs yet. I was thinking about it not too long ago, but haven't gotten around to it.

I was reading that there is a bogfix setting for auto or manual. most likely defaults to Auto.
I will play this evening, it seems pretty straight forward loading the firmware and interfacing. So honestly how much hp do you think you have gained?
