Well 5 is bigger, smoother, more comfortable and will feel WAY more refined, interior feels more upscale too no question. But you will also feel the size of the car handling wise. On the long drives though, I don't think they can be compared, 5 is hands down "better" (please do note the quotes ) car. If you can find one with DHP, that'll get you best handling options, sport/sport+ when you want to "play" and "comfort/normal" for long drives. It's just a question if you can live with the size of the car as it definitively will feel "less nimble" than what you have, but it's still a great handling car in my opinion.

My experience during some test drives is that it doesn't immediately blow you away, but longer you drive it, more you appreciate what it has to offer. One thing I'm very impressed with is gas mileage, quite impressive (535 in my experience).

Good luck with the switch, cannot see you being unhappy, but some folks coming from older generations do complain about f10 handling.

Here's the 3 most important differences between your 335 and an F10.

1. More space
2. Much smoother ride but won't be as easy to toss around.
3. Interior is 100X better

Recommendations

1. If you value a good suspension, then make sure it has M sport suspension or DHP.
2. Do not ever buy one without HIDs
3. Multicontour and ventilated seats seems to be one of the best in the business.
4. Get the wheel and tire package if you live somewhere with rough roads.

I changed from an E91 330d wagon to an F11 535i wagon, so similar in the character of change.

Agree much the same as others are commenting, totally different place than a 3-series. Correct suspension upgrades and options make the F10 5-series work with much more agility.

The comment on the 5-series, growing in appreciation for what it is, as you use it, is absolutely true in my case. There is a depth to the F10/11 which you may not fully grasp in a short test drive. I owned an E39 before E91, so did appreciate what a 3-series lacks when we are driving long distances. 500 miles in a day in the 535i is not an issue, a very relaxing place to be.

I find it odd that it has the heated front seat option, navigation and the Premium package 2. The Premium 2 has the heated seats and navigation in it. It sounds like whoever listed it just want to upsell it.

Yes you have the multicontour ventilated seats and the dynamic suspension. The options price looks like it is a 2011 550i? No cold weather package usually means it's the 2010 builds when it wasn't available. What's the build date on it? you might have the old iDrive without CIC. You also don't have a HUD which means no blacked out panel.

BTW, that's not really fully loaded. You're missing a lot of options like 4-zone climate, night vision, side and top view cameras, driver's assistance package, cold weather package, driver assistance plus w/ ACC, and probably more.
