Badblack, I think I saw your car on YouTube take down some serious numbers...wish mine was a xdrive also.
Agreed on 2.5psi is not too much difference but where I was tripping over my two feet was on this whole "customer care package" and they not fixing/warranting work after modifications have been done. |

I agree that 2.25 psi boost is not a lot and the risk is very minimal, but nevertheless, its there. |

These discussions are interesting. On one side you have those who are of the opinion that there could be an issue, and on the other side you have an extensive test bed of vehicles that provide evidence that the the engines can handle the increased power without issues. I'm an evidence kind of guy, so until someone can refute the real world evidence using hard facts (which I'd be very open to seeing), then I'll remain in the evidence camp. There's no right or wrong, just different perspectives. |

That's not true, they don't want to get HP figures too close an M car.

Well..I got the car back from the dealer and it got a clean bill of health. There was some fuel lines, new battery, breather tubes, and some other parts they replaced under the ccp. The timing chain, injectors, and other important parts were fine. I guess they also flashed the ecu also.
The car seemed very fast when I got it back. Maybe because I was driving a plain 3 series rental for a few days but she was pretty fast in sport+. So.... I decided that 2.5 psi would not hurt the car and my biggest fear of jacking up the clips or something were a distant memory. The car is now stupid fast with the bms stage 1. I haven't really had a chance to have a whole day to play but the acceleration from 40-100 is so much quicker. The feel is very linear and I am sure after a few more days it will just get better. Can't even imagine what stage 2 and free flowing down pipes would do. |
