Visor Airbag Sticker Removal
What do you guys use to remove the airbag stickers from your visors? I have used Goo Off in the past but just curious. Goo Off can be a little time consuming. Thx

I realized glue doesn't like baby oil when the label of the baby oil bottle doesn't want to stick to it. Since this discovery, I used it to remove stickers and glue residue from any surface. Especially the annoying glue residue after you remove the bar code label from the golf club. Baby oil and a micro fibre cloth took it right off. |

I've also heard of people using isopropyl rubbing alcohol. I tried this method but outlines were still visible.
I just ordered European visors from Schmiedmann with no labels in the end.

I ended up using Acetone. It was quicker than Goo Off but the end result was the same. Slight outlines still visible but still looks better than having the label. Thanks for the replies.

How do I remove these labels from my alcantara covered sun visors without damaging the visors!? :|
Made some mods when new, but now that my rear lamps are tinted and my car is coded, continuing on. |

I haven't tried it on alcantara, but I use the orange scented air freshener that they sell at Home Depot called Pure Citrus on adhesive residue and tar that attaches itself tot the fenders behind the wheel openings. It also works on bugs on the front end. Just hit the painted areas with polish or wax afterwards to protect keep it protected.

Anyone try heating the stickers with a blow drier and peeling them off?
I've also come across this(!?): "apply duct tape to sticker on a hot day. leave on overnight. peel off duct tape. sticker comes off with tape." |

Unless there's a really time-tested, proven, and easily-repeated process here, it seems like a big risk for a little reward.

Interesting, smart take, but definitely want to try, and will post results; educating myself as to best, least invasive method at this time. :|

Anyone know how to remove the visors from the car?
There's a cap where they connect to the car. Referring to area in yellow, but diagram not helpful. How do I remove the cap(?); don't want to damage it. Do they pop off, slide off...? Thanks! Last edited by dbs600; 06-28-2014 at 07:53 PM.. |
