Suspension
I own a 535i Touring (F11) 58,000 miles, recently I have had my suspension (front left shock blew out) as well as my Air Pump stop working. On my e46 my suspension only needed changing at 100,000 miles.
My question: how many of you had to change 1 or more of your shocks + at what mileage?

How long your shocks last depend on the quality of your roads, how much weight you put in your car. If you modified your suspension (lowering or lifting), especially lowering blows shocks. If you put on larger rims, and etc.
So in other words how long your shocks last depend on a lot of factors. If you don't lower it, don't use low profile tires, keep them inflated properly, have smooth roads. They last a long time. I think 30k-100K miles is pretty normal. They also wear out gradually so most people can't tell they need to replace them, until they are bouncing down the highway. |
