F10 n20 ground strap location?

2013 528I XDRIVE. I can't find the ground strap/straps at the front of the car. Does anyone have any idea of where it may be? I've seen where it is on other models but haven't been able to find mine.

This is what the forum is for...if you have an issue...explain the issue along with some details of the car's model/model year/engine/etc. (basically give the forum some info/details to work with).

You never know who might be able to help...so just put it out there for the collective to read. Your car may have an engine or transmission or other component that is also in a different platform...but the issue can appear in both.

didn't see a strap by the passenger engine mount... Saw one by the back of the transmission around the middle of the car.

Fair enough, I didn't get a response from anyone on the general thread when I posted a few days ago.

The other day it stalled out and kicked into neutral while driver. Got it towed to my place. It is now stuck in park, it will crank sometimes but it is very slow for about four seconds and cuts out or just clicks.

I will note it had a new chain and chain guides put in about a month ago and has ran perfect since.

New battery was put in, no change. Ground wire gets hot when trying to start, as well as starter. I was able to turn over the central bolt so the engine is not frozen. I checked the front jump point and it is showing 12.6 V as well as the battery. The hot wire going to the alternator is showing the same. Tried jumping from the front jump points, it would slowly crank but did the same as before.

all fuses seems to be good.

Do you mind taking a picture and posting it on here of your strap? I didn't find one by the passenger Engine mount.

You can’t see it from top of engine bay and from bottom you need to remove the aluminum plate to see it. I only saw it when changing out my front passenger axle.

The side wall aluminum plate or the skid plate on the bottom thats somewhat heavy? Because I have that removed and was under the car lastnight and didn't see it. looked for a while.

The heavy skid plate. I’m going off memory and it’s almost the universal location for all BMWs but don’t let me lead you astray. Hope you find it soon
