Summer hi-perf tires in winter
From only an integrity standpoint of the tire, are there any complications running summer performance tires in near freezing temps?

tires will be fine. You may be in a ditch if it starts to snow.

Accepting it will be chilly but praying no precip occurs for my day with Hartge, thanks for integrity assurance, don't want to damage sidewall or tread, etc.
Although it would give me a good excuse to but ps2's.

nevermind snow, even in freezing temps, the rubber compound becomes very hard and slippery, take it easy on the corners when its less than 7C...
I drove my M3 till the end of December on PS2s. Even though we had no snow in Toronto, with near freezing temperatures my traction control light came on even under moderate throttle. Good thing as it kept reminding me to ease off in the corners.... |
