For a 2011 F10 the p/n should be 61319253077; however it was replaced by p/n 61319296900. There does seem to be a change between MY2013 and MY 2014. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...&q=61319251182 |

just joined, sorry for bumping an old thread, but is there any way to tell what shifter you have without removing it and counting the pins, 8 vs 10?
it seems like 3/2012 is the changeover my car is a 2012, purchased 3/12, so i assume is the early version. I just bought the car and want to replace the shifter since the "P" is worn. would love to upgrade to the sport shifter, just want to get the correct one. |

right like i said i assume my car is early, but is there any way to confirm without removing the shifter and looking at the actual plug?
i think the early cars should be 8 PIN vs the later 10 PIN |

Nope, they're visually identical. Just remove the shifter, it's not particularly difficult.

Well I do like the look of the sport shifter better so if I can find a decent used on cheap I’ll swap it.
I did pull my shifter tonight and it’s the old style, 8 pin. It actually had a date on the side of 2/12 so it was close to the cutoff. Unfortunately it looks like the 8 pin one is much harder to find than the 10 pin |

Thank you for the informative thread, I will do the change of the Gear selector switch because the lights aren't working on my current one, I have the error code 802680 (Function indicator faulty).
Is there any fix to this error code other than just changing the whole GWS. Thanks again. Last edited by ivanoviskie; 03-20-2020 at 10:23 AM.. |
