I can not find a suitable location for my V1 Remote Display

I have read the forums and can not find a suitable location for the V1 remote display. One person had it at the bottom of the A pillar but you can't reach that easily and it is angled and just not a good location. Someone mounted it by their knee on the side of the console. Can't see it there half the time. It is amazing to me in this big azz car there is no accessible free space. One location that would work might be the top of the instrument cluster between the speedo and tach (not the best idea either). Another would be in the ashtray, remove the insert and mount it in there but 1- it would be sideways and 2- the ashtray would have to be open all the time. Can't fit it in the cup holder easily but I am not done playing around with that idea, that kills very useful space.

Someone has to have a solution to this. Can the remote be disassemble so it mounts flatter I wonder? HELP!!

Edit- I don't have the heads up display. Would it be possible to mount it in their so it was displayed on the windscreen somehow????

i had the same issue, ended up just not using the remote display.

I'm actually going to sell my v1 and pick up the escort max 360.

i used to have a stealth one for my v1 in my e39 which took the display from the v1 and displayed it on the information cluster. I do miss that! i've realized how crappy the v1 display is after not using it for so long!

Why??? The V1 is superior in every way. I've read too many stories of cops "hiding" in known "false K" areas. I've also been in too many areas where "K" is still used.

I was in your same school of thought, however with the new escort max 360 the game has changed.

the multi directional feature in the v1 was patented but that patent expired in 2011. so now escort started developing the max 360. which has multi directional capabilities AND access to escort's DB of false Alarms thats constantly being updated, combine that with the GPS on the detector, you can eliminate alot of false alarms.

Also, i like the more updated display on the escort.

Go check out some of the reivews on the escort max 360.

After my update my only false alarms are door openers and some cars' blind spot monitoring systems. I do get the occasional false laser warning off some CHMSL. I've also read a side-by-side where the V1 still wins in range. I get great around the corner coverage!!

I sound like a V1 salesman, don't I?? I'm not, just love my V1. It has saved me many times!!
