Finally after reading so much about F10 and looking at millions of pictures, i've decided to get one for me.
A quick background: I had e39s for about 8 year now, and i loved it. However, i almost bought e70 X5 4.8 x-drive because i like SUVs and X5 is awesome.
So i test drove maybe 4 X5s and 3 550i some where too expensive for my budget and not the right color combo for me. So one day i come across this black on black, fully loaded 550i with low miles for a great price with all the bells and whistles + warranty and maintenance.
Now i am so excited that its finally in my drive way!!!!!!!!!!:hap pyanim:
now i have 2001 bMW e39 525i blue manual in my garage and this one!!

I am gonna need new tires put on this car, and i've quoted Costco for new tires and its almost $1500 for all 4 tires out the door.
This 550i is FAST, not sure how Germans have managed to push 5400 lbs off the line so fast, its breathtaking!!! Just like all bimmers, this one is expensive, but unlike its competators, bimmers are actually worth spending money on!

50k, not bad since the original sticker that i found was $74150
it took some negotiating and full BMW inspection to get it to that price....

Congrats - excellent color combo...for the tires, I would look in the Marketplace section for tires at just a fraction of what you were quoted or drop in the M-sport wheels/tires for around 2K.

It is more like 4300 lbs, not 5400.

I am taking my new ride on a long road trip to Texas. I am curious to find out how well it will do in MPG.
I don't know how some of the features work on this car, like how do you set up a profile? does idrive has to tell you everytime that you should be distracted while driving, some of the idrive features.
I didn't get the Apple iphone snap in adapter with the car, but i don't want to buy a new one since i heard the iphone 5 is coming out in late september and its gonna use a different connector, so when i get new phone i will order new adapter for it.
Does anyone know how to play music from iphone 4s via Bluetooth in the car?

Sorry, i must've misread it, but i tested it with 4 people in the car so i guess it makes it about 5200 lb, but it takes off like a jet plane

First mod i wanted to make it to make the gear leaver in either dark grey or black. Just the leaver, not the trim around it.
Any ideas? how to change it?

Here you go, I think the ceramic shifter is like $600 for just the parts.

Does anyone know how to make the start up screen from saying something like " don't use it while driving" to a simple "BMW" logo and straight into main menu ?????
Also is seatbelt beeping signal supposed to beep even after you put it into park?

I feel so guilty for not driving e39 for about a week now while it just sits in the garage.... while i can't get enough of F10 and its awesome engine and everything...

I too drove an E39 and loved the car. I drove my 530i for almost 10 years until Dec 2009 when some idiot decided to pull out in front of me and destroy the car. Insurance wrote it off. I was devastated. The car only had just over 36000 miles and was pristine!!!

I replaced it with an E60 550i which I'm currently driving - not crazy about the styling - so I'm in the process of shopping for a 2013 F10 550i.

Would love to see more pics of your E39 - that car is classic!!!!
