Considering 13-14 535i

Hey guys, I'm new to the board and am currently looking at picking up a CPO 535i.

I was wondering if there are any known major issues with the 535i in 2013 or 2014. I tried searching around and it looks like the 2011 and 12 did, but don't really see too much after that.

Looking for things like how the E46 M3 had the rod bearing and SMG pump issues. Major stuff like that. Any info would be appreciated - thanks in advance.

Havent really heard of any major issues with 35i, but I would definitely get a 2014 one because of the LCI updates

The early issues were resolved by the 2013 model year, but as mentioned above, go with a 2014 for the LCI improvements (improved steering, better iDrive, slightly quieter). Also keep in mind that the communication technology for access to the Internet and for emergency calls for cars built prior to the 2014 model year will be obsolete at the end of this year.

I upgraded from a 2011 535i to a much better equipped CPO 2013 535i and I have been impressed, and a little surprised, by how much nicer the 2013 is. My 2011 spent a lot of time at the shop for little annoyances. The 2013 seems to have no need for any attention at all. If they only get better in 2014, then go for the 2014 and enjoy!

Idrive was updated for 2013. Steering would be the biggest upgrade for the LCI.
N55 engine is the same. I went 2013 to grab a hard to find 6spd manual Msport. Last year for non M car with that transmission.

The fact is 3 year leases ending this year makes for great supply on 2013 and if price matters, you can find a great one. Mine had only 28k miles on it, CPO with 38mos of warranty. It was not cheap (again, msport in stick) but there are a great deal of Steptronic offerings at very good pricing!!!!

Can't go wrong either way.
