I should have responded sooner as this thread has probably run its course now... Whilst the F10 may be based on the 7 series platform it doesn't share the same wheelbase. The 5 GT does have the same wheelbase as the 7 which is why it has a fairly significant amount of extra rear legroom - the 5 F10 saloon's wheelbase is around 10cm shorter (& is a little narrower too)...

I test drove a couple of 5gt s. Fabulous cruiser but less sharp than the F10/F11.
Plus the boot is poorly designed for taking a bike so I went for the F11. Seems to me that model proliferation is going crazy though. Example being 3 series saloon, tourer, GT, 4 series 2 door, 4 series 4 door x3 and x4. I really don't get the 4 series 4 door coupe. |
