Congrats on the car!

Post pics when you get a chance, I collected mine on the 31st and I've got a similar smile plastered on my face despite it being a lowly 520d

First week up tomorrow so some initial thoughts on the 530D

Likes:

• I know it sounds obvious but the 6cyl engine makes this a completely different car. It’s not just power, the car drives differently (possibly weight?), is more refined and wants to rev. The engine noise is also a lot more pleasing to the ear, especially at idle and when pushed.
• The idrive is much improved and a lot faster, especially on the sat nav functions
• Xenon’s.. My God, I can see where I am going. In saying that it wouldn’t be difficult to improve on the 4 candles (or is it ‘Fork Handles’) fitted to my old car!
• Black panel display, nice to get a change to the constant orange
• Seats and split fold! Anyone want to have a guess why you get an extra power socket in the front arm rest with split fold seats?
• M Sport Steering wheel – a thing of beauty
• Sports g/box, another thing of beauty.

Dislikes:

• Black Shadow line but still chrome on the door handles and the pointless strip on the front wings.
• Touch pad thingy, I don’t get it… For left handed tech heads only.
• I ditched the M Sport suspension but still a bit firmer than the old car, probably the larger wheels – glad I deleted the suspension as I think VDC would be required otherwise.
• MPG… Let’s not discuss that!
• My emails and text don’t seem to work. It did on the old car so don’t know if this is a set-up problem or a change to the software. A visit to the dealer required in the near future as I liked this function and used it a lot.

In summary… fantastic.
