Sport+ mode missing

Does anyone know what happened with the Sport+ mode from 2014 onwards? At present i have Eco-Pro, Normal and Sport modes but in my previous car i had Normal, Sport and Sport+.

Does this mean i just turn off traction control to get Sport+?

Someone mentioned this a few months back. Do you have the Sports Auto? Do you have 4 or 6 cylinder? My LCI with the 30d engine, and sports auto has sport+

Yep, if you don't have sports auto, you will not have the sport+ mode. No worries though, as far as I'm aware, all it does is disengage traction control

You mean a short press of the DTC/DSC button to switch the DTC sub function on.

I guess you'll be missing the subtleties of the Sport+ mode compared to when we have other options and configuration choices. For example, when I check the chassis only and move from Sport to Sport+ mode, besides enabling DTC, the sport auto gearbox program is activated (as it would be if configured for Sport mode, "the half-way" function) even though not used by the Sport mode due to my choice of configuration.

Do you have the configuration options for chassis and/or drivetrain, or is that menu missing from iDrive as well?

If so, then I suppose you get the sport auto program as you toggle to Sport mode. I sense you then have to flick the stick to M/S (as well as the brief press of the DTC/DSC button) to mimic Sport+. Both for the full sport gearbox program and to get DTC activated. An F30 320d ED auto I hired worked that way in Sport mode, that didn't have Sport+.

No sports auto, option 2TB, on the LCI 520d. You've got gear option 2TE.

You should have the shifter shown in the L/H picture. 520d doesn't come with sport automatic, but standard auto and the option of paddles.

Therefore the limited modes and no Sport+.

The LCI 520D SE Auto I have has the Drive Dynamic Control settings for Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport; these serve only to make the loud pedal more sensitive and in Sport mode I haven't been able to convince the gearbox of the 8th speed.
The gear area is identical to the image labelled 2TB above.

Which gear shifter do you have? Standard auto or SAT shifter?

I guess you refer to the LCI F10? I have a 2012 F10 520D that does have Sports Auto with Paddles and I have Sport+

I think you are saying you have the buttons at the base of the gearlever, what Remmib was asking is, do you have the gearlever on the right or the left?

The LCI 520d has the gear lever on left, whereas the pre LCI 520d with sports auto had the gearlever on the right

LCI 520d should have the gearlever on the left with optional paddles and the buttons below ( which I did'nt know when I ordered mine either!)

PS - As a result, no sport+

Mine is a standard auto.

Ah your picture solves the problem here, you do NOT have the 2TB, you have the left hand picture, which is what you should have as a LCI 520D

I have the Sport Automatic Transmission but I don't get Sport + as an option as I used to on my 2010 530d F11.

In fact today I found that the switch must be slightly faulty. When you push the Sport button the screen comes up with Sport Mode and pushing it again has no effect although the display shows Sport+ as an option. I found that the second push to activate Sport+ only operates intermittently so it looks like a faulty switch.

That makes sense!

Well, I have never seen any meaning of using Sport+ at all. It's Eco Pro, Comfort or DSTC off for me. There are simply too many variations coupled with the Sports mode on the Auto box.
On my 520D I can have 10 different variations of Modes. Totally silly.

The problem (if it is a real problem) with DSC OFF, the configuration defaults back to the Normal setting in my car, (535i). So not even in Sport mode. Sport+ is the sportiest setting without in car 'nanny' intervention.

BMW protect us while using DSC OFF, don't want us going through a hedge backwards with sensitive throttle modulation.
