Does bmw lease protection insurance cover cracked windshield?

I just got a cracked windshield on drivers side. It's maybe 8-10 inches starting from the edge. I bought the lease protection insurance (~$700) which covers excess wear & tear on lease-end. Will it cover it? If not, what are my options? Safelite and ask my personal insurance to cover it (liberty mutual bmw insurance)? I spoke to a service advisor and he said it's not covered. Thanks in advance.

If it's cracked from the edge, why wouldn't that suggest a warranty claim? Otherwise, comprehensive insurance should cover accidental breakage.

No is not covered under your Lease insurance. As you said that is for excess wear & tear. Should be covered under the comprehensive coverage on your auto policy , but is you have 250 or 500 deductible you are SOL. Sorry
