Drivetrain warning

Hey All. Curious if anyone has seen this issue. After starting the car the following warning message appeared in the display followed by the CEL on the dash. Warning message went off after about two minutes or so after restarting the car. Any help is appreciated.

I had this happen when I had my 2011 535, I took it to the dealership and they said they could not find anything it only happened once. I have a 2013 535 now and have not had any problems, take it in to dealership let them check it out for you.

This happens to mine all the time! I've been thinking I just got the "bad egg" on the lot.

Maybe a first year bug?

Drove again today and had no issue. I searched the forum and it seemed that most of these issues seemed to have stopped around '12-'13. Called the dealer today and they checked the VIN and determined that the car was subject to the VANOS bolt recall issue and I have scheduled an appt. I picked this car up with 36k and would have thought this bug would have been worked out by now judging from the mileage on most of the documented cases. Thanks.

Happened to mine and ended up being a 3 grand repair. So good luck, hoping that nothing bad turns up

This is a pretty generic error message - and if you search the forum many have resulted in nearly nothing (false alarm) to pretty dramatic repairs. I wouldn't overlook it - take it to the dealer and have them investigate.

That's a very generic warning. I had it come on constantly and it turned out to be the power steering module which was replaced on warranty.
