New Vorsteiner Lip Installed
I have to say now that its on and force fit to the car it looks pretty swell but I cannot recommend the Genuine Vorsteiner lip to the faint of heart of the meagerly equipped installer. Vorsteiner quality in terms of fit and finish simply isn't what it used to be apparently. The supplied mounting hardware was junk and completely inadequate to hold the lip to the car, screws simply pulled out under the stress of the lip pulled, forced into position. Some serious business screws with nut plates inside the bumper solved that problem, along with a length of rubber 3M trim finisher across the upper section of the lip where it meets the bumper to transition the edge of the carbon fiber.
"fit" with the transitional rubber trim is pretty decent if you can call it that. Quality of the carbon weave, layup and general finishing is certainly higher quality than the eBay replicas. Fit however, honestly and seriously, isn't much better. The replica lips lack the complete undertray though, and instead just have some cheese ball tabs to screw through into the bumper. |

Looks pretty dope! I know u paid a pretty penny for it but I'd be driving cautious all the time to the point when I hear a scrape it's like there goes $20 bucks...oops there's another $20 lol! Even across the other BMW forums especially the M3/M4 I've read several complaints about Vorsteiner's fitment. Some to the point it won't fit at all!

Looks great! Have you considered replacing your chrome grill with a matte or gloss black finish? I think now that you have the lip that would make the front much more aggressive.

I'd like to pick up a set of M5 style dual slat grills with black slats but the chrome surround. Only thing stopping me is not knowing what online vendor sell a set that fit like OE. With the chrome accents in the headlamps, polished wheel lips, and polished window trim its more with the coherent design cues existing on the car than blacked out grills would be. |

lol...i mentioned that on his build thread so when i saw the lip and saw the chrome grills i had to remember if i mentioned his choice of chrome grills and remembered he did lol. but i will say now that you slapped on the Vorsteiner lip the chrome grills is now clashing with the overall theme in the front. i would definitely look at the black double slat grills

Tasteful choice. I think you'll be happiest with the OEM black grills. I, too, am hesitant of eBay mods of most any sort.

Looks great, I need to refit mine soon as I am absolutely an amateur and mine came out a bit droopy. I bought mine used, but was very happy with the quality and fitment. Just needed another set of hands to keep it in place!
Also, I just switched from matte grills to the OEM gloss black ones and they blend very well with the Vorsteiner lip (in my opinion). A bunch of vendors sell them, or you can find one used (but basically new) like I did here on the forums
