We love all 5-series cars (and all great cars) equally here. Congrats!

It'll look great. I also have the blue. V deep and distinctive alongside the mass of white grey and black and silver cars on roads today. (not that I have anything against any of those colours either...)

Here in Sweden 92% of all F10/F11 cars that are sold are Diesel versions. I am very satisfied with my F11, the best car I have ever had ! |

It was a long wait but 1st of March eventually arrived and I took delivery of the car. F10 is an amazing car and I love the Imperial Blue colour. The car was parked just outside the showroom and I noticed visitors in the showroom staring at her rather than the cars inside . Imperial Blue exterior, Matt Aluminium shadowline and sun protection glass (tinted rear windows) create a very nice mix.
Just before arriving at the dealer, I had a mixed feeling driving my E60 530d for the last time. I said goodbye and was sure I was going to miss my E60. I don't understand how I managed to survive not upgrading to F10 until today though! Overall, F10 is an amazing car. I cannot compare E60 and F10 in any way. F10 is a totally different beast and no matter how great E60 is, F10 is a massive improvement in terms of electronics, mechanics and design. In terms of looks, I still prefer the front lights of E60 a bit more but the rear side of F10 is way better and the interior is beautiful, it looks like to me as an upgrade from 5 to 7 series. I really love the feedback from our two year old the first time we put her into the car seat. We had told her that the "silver car" was gone and was replaced by a new "blue car". As soon as she entered the car, she looked around and said "Let's have a look..." and then after few seconds, she said "wooowww" and my wife and I were both ROFL. The drive is very smooth and comfortable. In Comfort+ mode, passengers cannot feel the acceleration, gear changes or road surface at all. Our daughter has fallen to sleep literally within two minutes of sitting in the car every single time. Not to mention that my better half felt asleep when we test drove the F10 for the first time (and we are still alive as I was driving). Switch to Sport mode and you are driving a different car. I put the car in Sport mode before my wife sat in the driver's seat. She was surprised by the sharp acceleration of F10 compared to the 3-litre E60 and her comment was the car feels much more powerful when going up the hill or starting from standstill. The diesel engine noise is much lower outside and inside and vibration is reduced too. There is no pulling to the right or steering numbness, however it is probably too early to comment and I have to drive it a little bit more. In Comfort and Comfort+, I can feel that the steering wheel is less responsive and especially in Comfort+, you don't feel the steering wheel vibration caused by the road surface but that is why it is called Comfort mode! The only thing I don't like about the car so far is the engine auto stop/start function. I can see why it might be a good idea but it is very weird experience when you as the driver are not in control of a basic function of the car. It turns off every time I arrive home while the garage door is opening and starts again after a second. I can feel that my brain is learning how to change the driving pattern so that the engine does not stop. If I remember I turn the stop/start function off but sometimes I forget so at some point I will invent a super-botton (patent pending) that presses both engine start and stop/start disable buttons when I press it. Congratulations on your new ride! I will also miss my still current 530d E60 but in my case I am eager to change from a saloon to the Touring!
Don't forget to post from time to time!

All the best, my one is the same Imperial Blue with same interior too, black and Aluminium, and I am very happy with my choice, my previous E60 was also Blue same as the current one, I love the reflections on it on a sunny day, being an M sport I realised it was a better choice as most of the orders on with the sport package are carbon black.
The black interior is the best with the F10 in my opinion, I don't like the fact now the leather colour is extended to the bottom side of the dashboard, in my E60 it was not the case hence I went for brown, but with my F10 back was the only option for me in order to keep a good old black colour on the dashboard. Any way all the best. |
