Ours are both front facing now, thankfully. I loved but refused to buy this car for years because of the lack of space you mentioned. So much bigger than the F30 I had before it, yet the total leg room (front + back) is only about half an inch more in the F10. When they were rear facing, basically just didn't use my car much, just wasn't practical and we always had an SUV for my wife and the kids.
