Is it safe?

I currently have the 19inch 331 rims which are non stagerred...planning to change to stagerred 351 19 inch rims. Will it be safe it I used my 245 tyres on the rear rims which are 9inch. Normally the 9inch rear rims have 275 tyres and the front 8.5inch have 245 tyres.

There is no safety issues with square 245 tires on 8.5/9" staggered 351 wheels.

However the rear tires will be slightly more stretched and the wheels will look tucked in, therefore you might want to add 15mm rear spacers to make it look more flush.

I use my 8.5" and 9" wide 351M wheels as my winter set-up with 245/40/19 tires on all four wheels, not a problem at all, the rears are only slightly more stretched.

The one on the left is the 9" wide wheel.

Nice remmib! Any issues with driving in the winter RWD from your country with those tires?

My F10 was my first BMW that was not RWD (only because I did not want continue the argument with my wife). If you know how to drive in the snow, you don't need AWD. That being said, now that I have it, it does make it easier. Winter tires also make a big difference, but I never seemed to get around to putting them on.

Same here, lots of snow, no issues so far.

Impossible to argue AWD is better/safer in the winter, but it’s setup a bit higher, a bit heavier, no sport suspension, etc… so, you win some, you loose some.

I'll stop derailing the thread now
