Dumb question...no Jack no wheel lock key?

Hey guys! Never had to change my wheels but there's no Jack or wheel lock key? I've searched all over the car! Anyone know where they would put the wheel lock key?

Try the tool box in the boot, for the Jack I am afraid no since the tyres are Run flat, BMW believe you can drive to place to fix and remove the wheel, or call recovery.
In other words you have to buy the kit, I did with a space saver wheel when I switched to normal tyres.

So you're right about the Jack. So nothing in the boot in the back. I popped off the complete cover where the battery is and nothing. Nothing in the glove box, door pockets and even the sunglasses comparent! $hit...i even popped the hood for $hits and giggles...NOTHING! Now I called BMW and what they told me that because I bought the car CPO and not new they are not responsible for the key. I told them they never gave me a key? So they said I would need to bring the car in because they have a "master set " see which one it is...than order the wheel lock and than they said they would charge me for it? I told them "are u *ucking kidding me! He said with no hesitation "no...that's not our problem that's your problem!" Unbelievable customer service!

Just ranting because It made me realize I could be traveling somewhere with my family out of town and God forbid I get a blowout and there's no BMW Stealership anywhere and I have no wheel lock? That would just suck!

I just realized that BMW did a rear brake pad replacement in July! So the tech probably forgot to put the wheel lock key back?

I replied to your other thread already... but it really is your problem they just could've worded it differently (I was in the same boat as you recently). Have you checked the small box on the inside of the trunk lid ? Once you open the trunk, you'll see the box where your towing hook should be, you key lock might be in there ?

To clarify what others have already suggested when you open the trunk look at the bottom side of the trunk lid (will be right in front of you at eye level). There is a grey plastic box attached to it that has a black knob you need to unscrew to open it. Once open this will contain the locking wheel nut key, tow hook and some other items...

Just curious but don't you have aftermarket wheels currently? Did the installer forget to put the wheel lock key back? As far as everything else, sorry to say but you're S.O.L. We bought a CPO also and when we got home, I discovered the car was missing everything, stripped bone clean....floor mats, tool kit, owners manual, etc. When I called the dealership, they said....'It IS a CPO so you basically get what you get'. Bastards!

The wheel lock key is supposed to be in the tool box under the trunk lid.

Update...nothing in that bin u guys mentioned...no tow hooks/straps or first aid kit...just plain old empty. I will be heading to the dealership today but like I mentioned they did replace my rear brake pads in July. If the tech couldn't find my wheel lock than wouldn't he have mentioned it to the SA? I really think they forgot to put it back?

I'd be surprised if they used yours, or even looked for it. They have master set (if I remember correctly something like 16 different options) and that's probably what mechanics use in their shop - I can't see them going through everybody's trunk in order to find the right one and making sure it's put back in at the end of the service.

Replacement is not that expensive, if I recall it's around $20+ and they likely will have it in stock.

N. American cars don't come with the first aid kit. Just a wheel lock, tow hook and double ended screw driver--usually in the trunk lid that is empty in your car. Whats weird is I have two.

Okay...the SA from this morning was sent home for the day! Apparently the SA next to him heard the whole conversation when I called this morning and said he should not treat customers like that. For the inconvenience they Gave me their masterset key for mine and said the one they order they will just keep so I don't have to go back. That or maybe my full sleeve tattoos on both arms intimidated them lol

There is a tool box underneath the TRUNK LID, not under the trunk where the spare is usually located. this tool box is usually empty on the F10 but your wheel lock could be there.

As for BMW service center, they have a set of master wheel lock. I know this for a fact cuz ive had them remove my wheel lock cuz my key broke. As them to either remove your wheel lock for you or ask them the key code for your lock and buy yourself a key.

Good to hear you're all set now. That was pretty bad service from the other guy. As far as them forgetting to put it back, that's quite plausible. After all, you can't be expected to search your car when they return it for the key.

EXACTLY! the SA that helpled me i gave him the work orders from my last service when they did the VANOS recall as well as the rear brakes. So the SA immediately said "looks like we were the last one's to use the key when we removed your rear brakes so i'll just find out which lock it is and give you the masterset we have!" i bet the tech probably has the key in his work area or tool box and noticed it and just tossed it in his tool box.

what do the rest of you guys do now for a spare tire and jack now that i'm not of RF's?
