1st of all let me tel you its not a very simple job.. taking out the wood trim is easy but unplugging the connectors is a very tuff job.. because the wires are very delicate. ..so you have to be very very careful

The carbon...is it a matte finish and how has it held up now from common scratches over time now? Thanks!

Awesome! I still have a lot of my carbon fiber vinyl left from my other projects and tempting to do this? Does it at all make the interior look cheap looking than what you had before? I'd hate to regret it after a few years you know what I mean? I wrapped my Nissan Titan gauge pods and some of the front dash accents quite a few years back and it looks worn now so I didn't want the same thing with the Beamer but man yours looks really good!

I did my E39 and it lasted a couple of years with no issues. The toughest thing with the carbon vinyl wrap is the seams. I was able to do the larger pieces matching the seams to the "texture" of the carbon pattern and it's not noticeable. When I sold the car the buyer commented how much he liked it and was going to keep it. It doesn't look cheap if you get a quality vinyl product.

Never understood why would anyone want to cover up the beautiful wood trim on a BMW unless it was damaged

We paid extra for my wifes 328 trying to find one w/o the ugly silver trim pieces

edited: ok guess i mis-spoke without all the info----your right, with that interior color and what your wood looked like before i do agree it looks better.

My car has the dark burl trim w/ black int and i wouldnt ever cover it up, but again its a taste thing...didnt mean to offend

The wood trim is nice... But Carbon fiber look is nicer. That's the reason why most people wrap their trim in carbon. There's quite a few who have done it and posted with great results

yeah, that looks much better then the wood trim! How many sheets did it take to cover all you trim pieces? How much time did it take in total?

How do you guys get the trim to wrap cleanly around the bottom of the piece where the thin silver trim is almost molded to the wood?

Great wrap job. I wouldn't mind the carbon on the interior, but I can't bring myself to cover up the m sport trim.
