Premature Driver’s Seat Bolster Wear / Cracking!?

Please note the attached photos of my driver's seat, which show that the left bolster is wearing / cracking at 23k miles. I have the BMW Individual interior in Amaro Brown. The rest of the seat looks fine. The car is nearly two and a half years old and I'm concerned what this may look like going forward.

Any insight as to warranty coverage? If so, what's the best way of going about replacement?

Very disappointed.

Wow - with BMW Individual leather I'd have them rip the whole seat out.

On my previous (non-BMW) cars, they only replaced the affected area (seatback or seat bottom). But I didn't spend $2k-$6k for individual treatment...

Post-script - seating areas (leather) is a touchy subject since they can always blame you and your habits. As I just posted, my Cinnamon Brown Dakota seats held up very well over 24k miles and 3+ years. They looked new...

Thanks for your message. So when something similar happened to your other cars, it was covered under warranty? Which cars did you have and at how many miles did you experience this?

The dealer should cover it under warranty. I experienced something similar when I had my E92 M3. The replaced the entire leather seat cover. I will also tell you this is happening based on how you are entering teh car. Your coat or belt is dragging across that area, at least that what was happening with me. I made a slight adjustment as to how I entered and sat in the car and the issue never resurfaced.

I'm going to disagree with the belt theory.

I think this might be a bad piece of leather which can't withstand the perforation.

To answer the question - I had an Acura RL with ~18k miles and an Audi A4 with 25k miles.
