Angry Solodiesel for preventing perol filling in a diesel doesn't fit.

I have been driving since 1985 and always petrol cars. My one month old car is my first diesel. The family still has a car no 2 which is petrol. Of course I am afraid of misfuelling.

So I ordered a unit for preventing this from happening from solodiesel.eu. The model that should fit a 2011 5'er BMW is SD7. However, I can not install it I can not push it into the hole. I don't know if I use to little force? The original cap goes in without applying any force.

I do have a slight suspicion, however, that they recommended the wrong unit. The model I got should fit 5'ers between 2004 and 2011. From 2012 another model should fit. Could it be that they confused when E60 was replaced with F10 and that I need the unit recommended from 2012?

Come on man how could you possibly put petrol in a diesel. There are signs everywhere saying its diesel, even on the caps of the fuel device.

I had heard about BMW newest model having this, but remember to read this was for 2012 models and later.

So this system is in all BMW after 2009?

Nope.

Btw, I think I can sell my solodiesel fuel cap to him. He has a BMW X3. Should actually fit.

Confirmed. It is not possible to put a petrol nozzle in the hole of my 2011 BMW diesel. Strangely, this is not mentioned at all in the manual.
