Brushed aluminum vs Hexagon... Pics?

Anyone have good pics of the brushed aluminum trim versus the hexagon trim? Need to make a decision!

Its all personal taste but I went with the hex alum trim, I felt it was more racey / sporty when looking at them in the showroom. One reason I like it too is because it virtually does not scratch at all. I had the wood trim on my first F10 and it was getting scratched really bad by the keys. I have a picture in my signature link of the hex trim if you want to see it with black interrior.

Ciao.

Thanks for the pic delvek.

I ordered my F10 with the hex trim and was starting to second guess my choice since i still had time to change my order but you reconfirmed my decision was the right one.

That hex trim is pretty nice... and I agree 100% about the scratching. That's why i'm taking my wood trim out. Worried the brushed aluminum will do the same so maybe it's the Hex I'm looking for.

Does anyone know how to replace trims on your own? Any specific tools needed? Thanks.

Glad I could help out.

The wood trims drove my wife crazy, scratches were popping up all over. I dont have one scratch on my trim. Not sure about the alum. trim but I think it will have the same finish as the wood trims, the hex trim has a very hard shell over it that I think is unique to that specific trim.

I never changed the trims, I just have had 2 F10's and learned from the first one. First one was bought back due to the pulling issue.

I totally second delvek's word here. I had an E60 with the bamboo/anthracite trim and it was a scratch magnet. So in my new F11 I went for hexagon aluminum, also because it is not as bright as the brushed aluminum and therefore it is better for dark interiors (I went for all black).

Although I am bias here, very nice color choice, you will be very happy.

Can anyone confirm that the brushed aluminum scratches as easily as the anthracite wood trim?

I have hex now in my 2011 535 M-Sport. I had brushed aluminum in my old 3 series. I can confirm that brushed aluminum is much easier to scratch than hex, and when it gets scratched it looks terrible, mostly because it is so sleek to begin with.

That being said, the hex is not scratch proof. My dog was walking on my console and put a big scratch on the lid to the ash tray. But, because the hex trim is sort of "busy" looking anyways, it sort of blends in and isn't that big of a deal. I'm a big fan of the hex trim, and also have all-black interiors (with 2 dogs, its neccessary).

Hope thats helpful.
