Just ordered my 2013.

I've been waiting for the info for 2013 model like rest of you guys. Got a call yesterday from my salesperson that 2013 model can be ordered now. We selected the specs and put the order into order bank. Guess what? I got the production number on the spot. There was only 3 allocations opened for my dealer for the July production, which really means the real production starts in June according to my sales guy. According to him, the earliest delivery time will be around late July or early Aug.

The way BMW offers the pkg selections for 2013 really makes the final price to be higher for 2012 since I am forced to select some options that I wouldn't want like: HUD(which comes with the Tech pkg) Lane departure warning (which is bundle with the top view camera) I was going to order 535i but changed mind to 550i after seeing the price for 535i is around 73K and 550i is around 78K. Tough choice for me since I was also considering of ordering the new M5. In the end, I don't think I want to pay to $30K difference to get the similar equipped M5 and opt for the 550i.

Here are my spec:

Alpine White and Black Napa leather
Msport
Premium
Cold weahter
Executive Pkg
Driver Assit pkg
Dynamic Handling Pkg

I got $500 over invoice without negotiation. I can refer my sales guy to members in the Norcal south Bay Area. He is really nice guy to deal with. No hassle

Hopefully he is right about the June building production time and I can get delivery in July!!

Congrats! Just a few questions. I m on the same boat of buying a 5 but I m thinking 535i. Based on the PDF provided by Jason the M sports package price dropped about 2000 bucks. You said the final price for MY2013 will be higher with the same packages than 2012? Please share your packages for the initial 535i that you got around 73k. I m about to get the 2012 535i but of the price is similar and with more equipped I will choose to build a 2013.

The sports package dropped partially because it no longer include dynamic damper control. I just ordered my 2013 528i, and for what I wanted it came out about the same if not slightly cheaper... I guess the packages aren't exactly comparable, but i like the available packaging better in the 2013. Only bad thing is... No $1500 option incentive.

Great price. If you were to do European Delivery you can probably get a loaded 2013 m5 for 12k more than your 550. Game??

Yeah, I'd be interested in a loaded M5 for just 12k over 550.. certainly it's on the borderline of the budget... but I don't see the numbers aligning to that unless invoice on the M5 ED is a much higher delta from the MSRP prices posted here already

Guys, I just pulled the trigger and switched the order to the new M5.

Getting the good deal for ED like drewmisha and us_matrix suggested. Very excited to do the ED for wait for the M5.

What the? What's the price difference work out to be both in terms of ED invoice paid and monthly payment?! I'd much rather have a M5 over a 550 too..

well..still $20K difference. At first it was $12K difference, but I kept adding more options and now it has become an almost loaded M5. lol

Ahh, forget that then. I'll just stick to loaded 550 and get Dinan S2 immediately. Would be nice to have the M5, but don't want to look at a $1400/m+ payment.

Here is my take for paying the premium for M5 over the loaded 550:

M5 Engine and exhaust system: worth $8000 for me.
M5 handling: worth $3000 to me
The M5 look: worth $3000 to me
20" wheels: worth $2000 to me
The M5 interior: worth $2000 to me.
Being a M5: price less.

$20K is well worth it!

This car will be a keeper for long time.

Can anyone who ordered the 2013 5 series already send me their BMW dealer's number. I live in the NYC area and some of the few dealers I've called don't know what I'm talking about. I need to get the 2013 5 series ASAP and don't want to wait till Sept or October.

Contact George Javier at Rallye Bmw - 516-833-4836

Tell him Alan that just placed his order for a space grey F10 referred you. He's a good friend of mine and he'll take care of you. Plus Rallye's dealership is the best i've seen in NY/NJ area by far.

For 2013 model the earliest you can take delivery is probrably mid August since production doesn't start until next month (july)

Congrats on getting the m5. I see that you're #6 on 9/3. What time is your checkin? I'm trying to switch to 9/1 afternoon. Did you use a bay area dealer?

I use the dealer in south bay. I don't know the check in time yet. My sales guy should tell me soon.

Damn this thread! You have no idea what kind of a mindfuck I'm having right now debating between a 550 and a M5. Take a look at my spreadsheet..

My fully loaded M5 (no Bang&Olufusen sounds system and night vision) is around $93K *ED invoice plus $1500.

The difference for me is $20K difference between M5 and 550i.

If you are leasing the car, the payment difference may play major part of your decision making.
