The coding Guru!

Gents,

Last night GSPannu upgraded my LCI f11 to enhanced bluetooth. He also reduced the length of time it takes to select mirrors auto fold function, got the radio to turn off on door open and set my rear lights to come on as DRL.

Oh, forgot to mention he gave up the better part of his Friday evening to do this.

The man is a star!

Thank you Guru.

Enhanced bluetooth provides a range of functions - multiple phones can be simultaneously connected, media can be streamed over bluetooth and emails can be read to you on the move. Infact you can even dictate the reply.

However, certain hardware is required to deliver this functionality. The hardware on LCI cars is the same so the enhanced bluetooth can be coded. I don't think this is the case on pre July 13 cars.

Gspannu was also kind enough to check my car's vin to ensure it would work.

Did he do it remotely, or did you go to him?

Do you have to have pro nav for the enhanced or can it be done on business nav?

I really must get in touch with the guru. I've built myself a lead, but just haven't found the time to download the software yet.

I think I will see how it's done first then try and do a few bits after that.

I am seriously tempted with -

- rear DRL's
- Radio off on first engine off push button
- folding mirrors immediately on lock up

Interesting - I have a late July built LCI, so feel another visit to Blazing smoke coming on .....

Kind words... thank you all.

You are all welcome to come around to Basingstoke (or Winchester); and I will try and code your cars to the features you would like...

Can you do remote coding? I have a cable, and (I think) the software. And an interwebs connection.

Apologies. I have only coded cars in person (locally with direct connection).

Technically, there should be no difference as the car just needs the correct software; so whether the software is being operate remotely or locally does not matter.

It is more of a risk perception than anything else... it just adds to the chances of things going wrong.

......Another question.
Can the electronic park brake be coded to automatically release when you pull away?

Yes. It can be coded to automatically disengage as you press the accelerator pedal.

Infact, this is the default for 2013 cars onwards.

Thanks for the response
Really, mine is a 2014 LCI and doesn't do that, is that because I have a manual box?
Could it still be coded for a manual box?

I do not see any reason as to why not... but again, these things have to be tried to be seen. There is no reference point/ user manual/ guidance.

We can try it and see if it works...

If I recall, the codes that need changing are something like this:
DSC -> 3000 Allgemein
Funktion_AutomaticDriveawayRelease_aktiv: change from nicht_aktiv to aktiv
EMF -> 3000 Kodierdaten
Change from ADR_AKTIV to ADR_ein

Can you code it to start in Eco Pro? That would be brilliant. And would fancy the extended BT, but no idea when I would be down by you to have it done.

Start in Eco-Pro mode:
Unfortunately no. the ability to start a car in any particular mode has not been found yet. Lots of people want this feature (though most want it such that the car always starts in Sport or Sport+ mode !). This feature is almost considered the holy grail (in the coding community) at the moment and I guess whosoever finds it will be famous

Extended BT:
Can be done as long as you have the HU_NBT and your car is built after June/July 2013.
