Soft door close noise
Hi guys I have a 2013 550i with the soft door close option and it just started making a loud noise after I close the door. The soft close function still works but it sounds like the motor or gears are getting stuck. Has anyone had this problem? I'd like to see if I can get any advice before I replace the actuator assembly. Thanks in advance.

Any update for this thread?
Can someone tell what Fuse I can pull off while I get it fixed? I hear a loud mechanical noise as if some thing is not latching on when soft closing the driver side door. |

reviving this thread. Wondering if a solution has been found other than replacing the whole mechanism. I have 3 doors that are noisy after closing. But one that acts like it should. Video links to issue as well as the one that seems to operate as designed:
And the correctly working one: |

Looks like Fuse #149...but You may want to check you fuse index to see if F149 controls other things that may be affected if you temporarily pull it.

The concern is that the motor is working harder than it should and ultimates pushes the door a little further out. It also doesn't seem like a desirable sound from the setup. The rear door (second video) is always short a quick. The rest of the doors have this full motor cycle of pulling in..then pushing the door out..

I am betting though it has to be some sort of alignment issue of the latch like another poster here. I never ended up trying to move the bracket on the pillar that the latch closes on. I think that might be the actual solution since I know the car was repainted before I got it so it just may have not been aligned better at the time. |
