The SA who gave my car back to me this morning said that this is a known problem on the first F10s.

I've only had my F10 535i for a little over a week. I do notice the lag when in normal mode; however I find myself driving in sport+ with the paddle shifters, for which I do not experience any lag at all driving in that configuration.

I think the lag only comes in all modes apart from sport+, I also tested this in my car.
I think most of us drive about 5% or less in sport+ this is why many what to cut the lag in all modes.

The lag is caused by the transmission starting in second gear in normal mode. When more throttle is requested it is not given instantly but then it slams into first gear - not a refined touch. Second gear starts were done for the city mpg cyle rating. Poor choice.

It's normal for most of us to drive in "normal" mode. It's just plain awful to do daily commute driving (in traffic) in sport+ with the gear holding at high rpms.

Just give us a throttle response of the sport+ but without the gear holding and we'll all be fine! It's THAT simple, BMW.
