Buy BMW 535i xdrive high miles

Hi everyone need some input here I currently am looking at a 2011 BMW 535i xdrive 1 owner high mileage 91,000 miles . Can get it for 20,999-21,999$ Has navigation cold weather package . Imperial blue with tan leather interior .I currently own a 2004 545i every option 77,000 miles on it . I drive it about 10,000-15,000 miles a year and was wondering if I will save on gas ? I also have a company vehicle ford fusion I drive just would like to upgrade the 5 series .

I would definitely ask for service history and records. I have 50k miles on my 2011 535 xdrive and went through multiple visit to the dealer already (luckily, all covered under warranty) Assuming the vehicle is out of warranty, you might be in for a surprise. However, I feel the car is solid, I get about 22mpg combine, and I think it's pretty good on gas coming from a infiniti M35 sport. drive over 15k miles a year and will prob be around 100k in 5 years. Hopefully this car can last. I had a e39 528i prior to the infiniti and that thing was nothing but headaches. Good luck!

Ya the mpg will help me a lot coming from a v8 . What kind of repairs did you have ? I'm worried the x drive as nice as it is and the power will end up costing a lot on repairs considering I'll be buying with no warranty I'll get a BCA and have it checked out at BMW of Elk Grove

Not sure why you keep coming back with the same question hoping for a new answer? There's no such thing as a "cheap 5 series." If it has 91k miles on it, you can expect it'll cost you some dough to maintain. And if you're talking about trading cars to save on GAS (especially when gas is at the cheapest in 5 or 6 years now), clearly you should see the irony?

Sell the '04 and drive your company car. If that's not an option, sell the '04 and buy a relatively new (under warranty) WHATEVER - but make it affordable. Save your money. You're clearly trying to cut corners to own a 5 series, but buying something you can't truly afford turns a dream into a nightmare. That 12-year old 545i is going to blow up on you one day - and the repair bill may leave you stranded if you're not prepared for it. A "cheap" high-mileage, out of warranty F10 leaves you in a similar lurch.

I'm sure, deep inside, you know this is true - and it's why you keep looking for support to help you justify it. But you'll be happier in the long run if you just do the responsible thing. You may not like what people here keep telling you - but it's not because they're mean, evil people - just the opposite, they're trying to give you GOOD advice. Take it already.

Plenty great advice has been given in previous posts on this issue, however it must be not what he wants to hear. So sure go ahead buy a 2011 with 91000 miles on it, heck take it to the track too maybe throw in some auto cross also. After all what could go wrong?

maybe I'll wait I know it's the smarter decision just want the new body and i read x drive is the only way to go if not getting dynamic handling . I'd rather not spend over 26-30k dollars before tax on a 2011 535i

Lmao sounds about right I've at quadrupled my income since then so I can afford 4x the mistakes and bad decisions than before lol

If you are asking about the cost of gas and maintenance the BMW is not a car for you. In case you don't know BMW stands for "Bring money with you".
BMW's are best leased or owned by wealthy individuals that don't ask your kind of questions. If you want to save money buy a Honda or Toyota that you can drive for years with no maintenance and an oil change costs less than $30 vs. over $200 for a BMW.
