Exclamation I got my car today!!

As announced on 5POST homepage.

I picked my car up today.
I have still to spend lots of time becoming familiar with it, but thought I'd post some pics asap.
If any member wants pics of a specific part, let me know and I'll do my best to accomodate.
My first impressions?
Fantastic!
I'm a hard guy to please with cars, but the car did exceed my high expectations.
Driving is EXTREMELY smooth and VERY quiet
The 8 speed sport-auto is very quick changing; the paddles are great!
I've not thrown the thing around yet, but handling appears great. The ride comfort, compared to my M-Sport E60 on 18 inch runflats, is very noticeable. Bumps and potholes do not jar the whole car!
The windscreen wipers are actually the correct way for us guys in the UK as well!
The interior is extremely high quality. I had seen the prof. i drive screen at the preview evening, but it is still HUGE.
The speed limit display is remarkable (see pics). Every time you pass the speed sign it updates (there is some feedback from GPS as well as it even knows the difference between single and dual carriageway roads (the limits are different in the UK)
And it seems like a very minor point, but the instant fuel economy gauge / efficient dynamics indicator is a LCD screen. It is amazing.
I'll post further when I have had a chance to play some more!
P.S. The DVD playing feature is rather cool...
Rich

Congrats!
One quick questions: Do the paddles (+ or -) indicators light up at night? Thanks in advance. Enjoy the car

No the paddles do not light up; in fairness from the driving position you can hardly see them, but they are in exactly the right position. They fit nicely into your hand when holding the wheel.

It was USB stick in the glovebox USB port. You can copy MP3, WMA, AAC etc files onto the cars hard drive.
For some reason you can play from either USB port (glovebox or centre console) but only dowload from the glovebox.

Hi Rich,

Glad you like the car. I really like the interior but the exterior does nothing for me and very bland etc and I am now thinking of buying the previous E60 model as a result because I have the E39 which was the previous model as you may know. I drove an E60 3 litre diesel and it was very good and comfortable but can you describe what significant differences you have noticed with the F10 compared with the E60 you had before?. Thanks.

PS I think the space grey is one of the best colours imo

The drive is quite different from my E60 M-Sport; there is no denying that the E60 handled well, but at the expense of quite a harsh ride. Pot holes, speed bumps etc were brutal. You feel much more enclosed as a driver in the F10, although not in a claustrophobic way - the door tops seem lower in the F10 so you feel higher; the instrument layout (and being able to see all of it) is much improved. It is much quieter as well (although zero miles compared to 85k does make a difference). Don't get me wrong - I loved my E60, but the F10 seems better built and thought through.
The i drive is hugely improved; many of the features were available on the later E60's - but not the screen. Pic's don't do justice to it. As it is not set into the dash, it is much more pronounced. That's certainly one of my favourite features.

Correct. Although not due to garage size - due to all the cr*p in there...

Congrats on your new car! Is your seat comfort or sport and what inch run flats did you get? I have ordered the prof nav, does that include the speed limit or is that an extra? Thx in advance.

First 5post delivery, very nice!!

Please post pics of the car in the sun when you have a chance. Space gray looks absolutely amazing in direct sunlight.

Can't wait for these cars to hit US dealerships.

Looks great. I thought that the UK official on-sale date of 20 March had gone down too quietly here.

I visited a local dealer and had my hands on a 530d in black out, oyster in. Convinced me to order one ('lowly' 520d though - but still special imho).

Just cant decide on colour combo.
Space is not quite light enough for me and Ti Silver is way too 'normal car'. Thus its black. Interior decision still ongoing - black or Cinnamon or Oyster. Tough choice.

Seats are standard seats (not comfort or sport). The wheels are style 328 (18 inch).
Speed limit display is an option (245 GBP) which is only available with prof nav (but worth it!)

No; that is an option here in the UK - 245 GBP

Unfortunately 'when I have a chance' is not dependant upon me - this is the UK, where sun is a rare thing! It was raining when I picked the car up (as you can probably see in the pics. Yes, when we have sun, I will post more pics!
