Spotted First G30 on the road!!
So, I was driving to work and spotted the new G30!!
First impressions from behind looked like a bigger 3 Series and from the sides a bit like the 4 series. Got to say from the front it looked good but it was a SE trim and I like the look of M Sport personally. It surely looked lot slicker, less bulky and finished compared to the existing F10. The one thing I realised was, the exhaust tips were circular and not squarish as I have seen in most of the videos and pictures on the internet. Is it model or trim related? It was a 520D SE that I spotted. |

If you want to have a look at one, Berry Heathrow have one that you can look at. I looked at it on Sunday.
Not sure if tehre is supposed to be an official launch or not and what date that is. |

I saw the new G10 520d SE today and had to double take. As I approached and saw the exhausts I assumed it was a 535d but as I got closer I realised it was the new 5 series. To be honest from the outside it wasn't significantly different but then I think I would be surprised if there were radical design changes.
I'm booked to drive the new 5 next week so I'll report back on what I think. |

New G30 540i Xdrive M Sport arrives
I was in the dealers paying for my car and it had arrived that day. Couple of pictures I took. More when I pick it up.

I just seen one today and honestly at first thought it was the new seven series. Then realised it was the new five. It genuinely looked liked a smaller seven.
It was se spec The rear lights cluster was very large compared to the f10 and carries through deeper into the back section of the car. The front grill and light cluster look very prominent and it's what first caught my eye. I think a bigger three series and a smaller seven series from outside is a description for it. Whereas in the previous generations the series had certain cues of other range cars but these generation looks very identical at times.

I test drove one at Chandlers, an MSport 530d, very nice interior, similar to a 7 series, as you can see above, it seems more "pulled" horizontally if that makes sense, smaller in height at the front, and appears wider due to the light clusters.
He had a full spec 530d for immediate pickup, but I went for a brand new 535d F10, which is the engine I wanted, as the 535d is not available in the G30 yet, for a fraction of the price with everything specced on it, also for immediate delivery. I love the F10 shape, and the difference is not sufficient enough for the depreciation hit imho.
