Having accumulated more speeding points I decided to adhere to within the limits i.e. 75 gps ratified mph in a national speed limit on a long trip out and back from Norfolk to Portsmouth.
On the plus side the car is well run in ( 98k ) and I did use eco pro on the motorway average speed limits etc. On the minus side the car is an msport with 19" 351's, there was a lot of congestion and stop / start on the journey home. journey down 200 miles / ave speed 60.3 mph / ave mpg 50.1 whole trip, 406 miles, ave speed 52.7, ave mpg 50.0 Amazed- didn't do granny driving just sensible Will sure miss my F11 when my new G30 arrives in June, at least that's a 3.0 too

Nonetheless I am impressed with the broad range of the engines talents.

Very quick and smooth now, love the performance and MPG is still sensible when driving carefully, managed an actual 48 MPG over 200 miles on the motorway at a steady 75mph, OBD said 53 but the tuning box messes it up a bit |

If you know how many % difference there is between the real brim to brim mpg and the OBC mpg, there is a hidden menu you can access in which you can correct the OBC. Did this on mine a while back, it's never been more than 1 - 2% wrong since.

Have a look at this link to access it.
Then IIRC enter the BC-0 menu and adjust the number from 1000. So if your OBC is reading e.g. 6.5% better mpg than you are getting brim to brim, then change the 1000 to 1065. If you have the multifunctional display it's a bit different to enter the hidden menu (I didn't need the sum of the last 5 digits of the VIN) but it works in the same way. |

that's good going. I average 36mpg with a v.heavy right foot on my daily 26mile journey from Herts to Essex in my F11 535d. Driving more sedately sees early 40's. I recon with a proper run averaging the numbers you quoted I could hit mid 40's. Enjoy the G30 when it arrives!

Would always choose the Touring, had them for years and love the look and practicality but having been ' forced ' to plump for a saloon there are benefits such as less initial purchase price and not driving round with the equivalent of several bags of cement in the back which must help the poise on damp roundabouts
