I already did the fronts about 7 months ago, I'll be doing the rears today........ummm in a few minutes. The front rotors were warped really bad and they looked like shit, they almost looked as if the previous owner at some point wore the fronts and rears down to metal to metal contact and then just did a pad slap! The sticker price for my car was $81k so I can't imagine someone would buy a car that expensive and not do a proper brake job. If I had to guess I would say my car used to belong to woman with kids! It has the rear entertainment package and the interior has trim have scratches were nobody would typically touch in the car. Also all the wheels were curb checked and it had a small dent in the rear bumber cover, only a brain dead woman or very very very stupid man could do these things even thou it has a rear camera and all the radar in place to prevent this kind of damage. So today I can finally remedy the last of the exterior imperfections my poor 550 was showing.

Rear brakes done, I was finished at 2:30 and had to clean up and test drive the car. im happy to report the vibration I had from the rear brakes is gone

Don't pay any attention to the way the rotor looks right now, it has a little of the black coating still on it and it makes it look like its wearing wierd. I can assure you there are no groves or unevenness I only went around the block, after I drive it more the rotor will be shiny and clean all across. But if this bothers any of you, you can have your brake guy turn the rotors before you install them and they will be all shiny and clean looking before you install them. He only has to turn off enough material Just to remove the coating.

The tools you will need:
1. T-45 or 7mm to turn the emf in
2. T-30 to remove the emf
3. Swiveling braker bar and 18mm socket to remove caliper bolts
4. 6mm Allen to remove rotor retaining bolt
5. 17mm to remove lug nuts

When you put the pad on the piston side put a small dab of rtv to keep the pad stuck to the piston, obviously you need to clean the piston face...

Before you sqeeze the caliper piston back you need to turn the emf CLOCK WISE until it stops....

It turns by hand no need for a wrench

Here's a pic of the tools....

There is grease for the caliper shafts
There is anti seize to put on the hub and in wheel bolt holes, put it on the hub to stop it from rusting up and making it hard to get the wheel off, for next time

The part of the caliper that holds the hardware just slides off and the boots will just pop off. Make sure you put on the new hardware....

The right rear on my car had the brake wear sensor, you can gently pry it off with a flat head screw driver and it just pops back in...

I'm asumming yours will still be good like mine was, my pads were not even half way worn yet so the sensor was not touching the rotor. If your rear brakes were worn out you will prolly need to replace the wear sensor.

Guys this was super easy, the only thing different than other cars rear brakes is the EMF and all you do is unplug it, unbolt it from the caliper and set it aside.

Here's mine finished before I drove it......
