M Sport Suspension/Dynamic Damping Control Order

Ok, so I was unable to sleep late today, and what better use of my time other than check on the production status of my car.

Mind you, this is the first time that I notice this...

I ordered the car in the following configuration:

2013 535i
Imperial Blue
Oyster/Black
Anthracite Wood
DA
M-Sport
Premium
Tech
Sport Auto
Comfort Seats
Heated Seats
Soft-Close Doors
Premium Sound

My build sheet obtained from the dealer reflects exactly this configuration...

On the BMWNA website (where I track the order), there is a slight (albeit pretty big) difference...
The M-Sport package being installed on the car is listed as having both Dynamic Damper control and the M-Sport Suspension, which to my understanding cannot coexist (you get one or the other). The DDC is an additional $1,000.

Now the question is whether the website is wrong, and the car is configured as per the build sheet, or whether BMW goofed and installed the DDC in the car. If the DDC was indeed installed (hence the added $1000), who pays that? Does BMW or will they simply say, take the car as it is now and pay the difference or we can build you another car (and you wait another 2 months)?

Also still have no answer as to what the M Sport Suspension means.

There is no description on the BMW website.

Regardless of which one I get, I'm sure it's going to be a vast improvement over what I currently have on the Infiniti M w/ sport suspension and 20" rubber bands (I feel every crack in the road).

All my test drives of the 535i were on the M suspension, whatever that implies, and I like it. I guess ignorance IS bliss, and I wouldn't even know what I'm missing with the Dynamic Damper Control because I've never driven one car that has it...

Its most likely the website is wrong. Mine showed my car had the wood trim steering wheel on the website which i didn't order and the car came correct. Your sales guy can email you a screen shot of their system which shows you the exact status of the car with all the options etc... Its more accurate than whats on the bmw website.

i just leased a 2013 M-pkg 535i, i thought it comes standard with DDC which my friend 2012 is included with M-pkg. The ride w/o DDC is like floating on boat which gave me a bit headache of car sick. i like more stiff suspension which i already ordered a KW V2.

www.realoem.com is your friend. Searching the part catalog it looks like the only difference between MSport and non MSport suspension are the shocks/struts and stabilizer bar. Springs could be different as well, but they do not list those parts individually on realoem.

The Dynamic Handling option adds lots of changed parts. Its pretty high tech. Maybe overly high tech when they managed to accomplish same in the last gen without all those gizmo's.

I recently took delivery of my 2013 535i MSport. I didn't get the DDC but rather decided to stick with the MSport suspension. I've transitioning out of an E39 M5. I actually like the new suspension. Its not quite as stiff as the E39 M5 but pretty good nonetheless.

Even though I didn't order DDC or ARS, they both showed up on the website. I think its because it hasn't been updated for 2013. In 2012, I think DDC was standard with the MSport package (although at a higher price).

Any pics?

Any thoughts on the MSport suspension vs one with DDC now that u drove both?

I didn't get a lot of time in a car with DDC so its hard to compare. I drove a 550 at the PDC around the track and that had DDC and ARS and I really wasn't all that impressed. I felt my old M5 was better. So far, the M Suspension in my 535 has been pretty nice. Firm but not harsh.

I totally agree with this. M-sport Suspension is the way to go with the F10
