Interior color

Has anyone seen the individual Amaro Brown leather with Jet Black. I'm waiting for my car to be built and I have this worry that it is going to show up looking orange like the cinnamon brown dakota leather.

I'm so tired of black and always sitting in a black hole with dark wood I decided to change things up. The Amaro Brown marino leather with red sycamore wood and ceramic controls should look upscale. I just don't want orange.

You didn't get to see a sample? I'd say Amaro looks light brown without orange.

I actually saw a car with the interior and I thought it looked incredible. Then recently I saw some private pics of a blue car with Amaro brown and it looked orange. It could be bad exposure of the pics. I opted for the jet black, the old fashioned no bullshit BLACK because my Jerez M3 clashed with the black leather interior. Black interior on a blue car (Jerez is blue) looks like a mis-match.

No one has Amaro Brown? I guess that's sort of a good thing as it will be an exclusive color I won't see coming and going around town. Lots of 5ers in CT.

Check the M5 board - many more there with it, I think. The color looks nice to me - thought of going that way, too... but then it was going to ruin more than a decade of buying jet black with black leather for me.

Oh I hear you on the black on black. I did that for years. Lately its been silver/black. When I mentioned I ordered the new car with a jet black exterior the kids all said "oh no not ANOTHER black/black!" I didn't tell them I changed up the interior. Car isn't due until April. The individual options really adds to the wait.

Here are some pictures of my 535 F10; Individual Amaro Brown with Individual Red Sycamore interior.

I too struggled before choosing this combo... but, I have not seen any other car with it. So quite exclusive... !

Love the colour of the leather but not sure about the trim as I think it clashes, piano black would have been a better contrast imho

I did have Piano Black in my previous F10, but the Sycamore Red looked better when I did a side by side comparison.... (at least in my view)

That looks awesome! Thanks so much for taking the time to take all those pics! Is that actual leather on the bottom of the dash too? The leather looks to be a much better quality than the nappa.

I too went for the red sycamore. It certainly looked the best (to me anyways) on the BMW build site. As I sit in my black nappa interior of my current car with the dark wood everything just looks SO dark and dreary. I thought I would take a chance on something fresh and new.

Thanks again for taking all that time and effort.

The amaro brown extends to about the same level as on the doors. So, the glovebox is amaro brown as well - gives you an idea as to where it extends.

Compared to normal leather, all individual leather options have slightly more leather overall:
- Central Console
- Back of front seats
- Slightly more leather below the dashboard

I had also chosen Perforated seats (Seat Cooling) and this lends the leather the perforation - massively enhances the look & feel. The leather seems to be very similar to Nappa (but I read somewhere that it is better lasting/ durable than Nappa).

If you are going Individual; you can also choose to go 'Full individual'; meaning you can have the whole car in whatever shade you choose, including the dashboard (in full leather), the headlining, etc... will just cost you £££ more, but you can choose twin-tone styling if you wish, or stitching pipelining in different shades. I remember seeing a 6 series Coupe with Full Individual, this one was bright metallic red (with lot of fleck) exterior, and the leather inside was white/ivory and red - twin tone sahdes with red stitching - it just looked awesome, but it did cost the guy in excess of £10k for the individual options.

I too ordered the luxury seating package and that gives the ventilated seats and more contoured seats. I see it as a huge upgrade in both look and feel.

The individual leather cost here in the states is $2,500. The individual wood cost is $1,080. I thought the red sycamore wood looked the best by far with the Amaro brown. On the BMW build your own site it looked like a nice medium brown. In your photos it appears more orange. Would you say it is in fact in real life more like the BMW site or is it more like a baseball glove orange kind of color? Not that is matters, the order has been placed and the car should be in production so I'm getting Amaro one way or another.

I just hope with the jet black exterior and M-sport package the Amaro/red sycamore is an upgrade in quality and refinement over another dismal black interior. Black would have been a safe choice, but life is too short to play it safe. I am very happy I can't find one. I want to have something different from all the other BMW's in town (too many). In fact, on my road we have 6 houses. Every single household has at least one BMW in the garage. There are two 535's, one 550, and then my 535d (silver/black) that is being replaced by the car we have been discussing. That's FIVE, 5 series in 6 households. The guy that doesn't have a 5 is driving a 760, yep, black/black. In fact, ALL the 5 serioes cars are with black interiors on my street. Not my new one, lol. I'm going to shake everyone up, even if it does end up orange.

My gut tells me its going to be really nice.

My exterior is Alpine White, and I too didn't want to go the obvious route and spec black interior. I went with cinnamon even though I hadn't seen one in the flesh. Happy with the choice and not too dissimilar to the colour under discussion here.

Black interiors look great but year after year it gets boring. I like the cinnamon, in fact we have it in our E93 2012 328 vert.... M-sport in Glacier silver metallic with the cinnamon leather and black carpets. Car looks awesome and we get compliments everywhere we go on the combo.

The truth is that car interiors are quite difficult to shoot photographically accurate. The colour balance is usually way of the charts; and since there is no pure white colour (usually) inside the car, you can't even correct the photo after the shot.

The Sycamore wood is somewhere between the 2 shades - orange and brown. It can look reddish in some lights and orange in others and very dark brown in dull light. It is also extremely glossy (and easy to scratch!). One thing is for sure, it is a very unique shade...

I think Amaro is a great colour! Here's mine with Imperial Blue with black Alcantara headlining and ceramic controls.

The car looks really nice. Not sure why but they said I couldn't get the Alcantara headliner. I did order the ceramic controls. I hope they feel nice and are an improvement on the normal controls. As long as the Amaro doesn't look orange.

I love the Morr wheels. What size are those? Do they make a difference in the way the car rides/handles? What kind of tires are you running? I def want to get a nice set of 20 inch rims with some non runflats. Thanks for the pics your car looks awesome. You spared no expense... got the nice headliner and the B&O.

I saw both the Amaro brown leather and Red sycamore wood trim in person at the dealer. The red and brown looked awesome to me when I saw them. All the photos are not showing the true color. If you go on the BMW build site and put it all together I think it looks really good. One has to think that BMW gets the colors correct on the build website so folks get a decent look at what they are buying.

My Morr's are custom made; standard BMW sizes so 8.5Jx20"/ET33 and 9.5Jx20"/ET44. Tires are non-RF Michelin PSS.

Makes a big difference for sure, almost spring here in Holland so I can ditch the winter tyres (on the standard 18") again. But IMHO the biggest difference in handling makes the Integral Active Steering (IAS). The car handles so much better.
