The new instrument cluster (6WB)
There is many opinions regarding the new 6WB code.
Before seeing it live in person I was also unsure, and there is something about classic gauges, but ... Yesterday I picked out my new F11 - and I love it! Let us just wear our Rolex or Patek while driving and we mix classic beauty with new technology. ECO PRO-mode: Normal night-mode: Sport-mode: - MikeJ |

My 2013 535i was built on 23/07, I couldn't add 6WB but I had the 6WA which is the instrument panel with extended contents. I really like it and looks very classy... but still wish i could have the latest one !! i like the look of deferent modes ...
looks really nice, congrats for your new F11

Great images MikeJ!
do you have any images of what info you can display between the gauges? Nav routing, other things?

Sound like it will be an option thus and hopefully the ability to switch/choose between an analogue display and the new one. I can see how to some it may be a little over the top. Looks good to me but I do prefer my current '12 F10 blacked out display.

I also love mine and it provides a much more immersive experience. The only downside IMO is that the fps could be higher as you do notice the tachymeter needle movement not being as smooth when you rev up or down quickly. But probably that is just a matter of software update… Other than that I think it is brilliant.
And the good news for everyone is that it is an option… There is no need to jump ship! |

I wonder if this will ever be an option on the M5...

As of 1 Nov BMW Australia slipped it in as a new $600 option on the 5 series but there hasn't been any fanfare or public release of it here; even my dealer didn't realise it was now available on the 5er. I quite like it.

Looks wonderful on your pictures, but can you confirm that new gauges are not as so bright as in my post (http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthre...=740522&page=2) ? How they really look at night ?
Also watch the movie on about 4th minute (it seems to look ok, the background is black, but then it starts to go brighter): http://bcove.me/75rk7j3z Last edited by panas; 01-17-2013 at 09:29 AM.. |

As long as you are offered the option to choose, why not?

How do you select these options? I have a two week old 535ix but scrolling through the Comfort, ECO and Sport modes does not change the cluster. Any help will be appreciated.

Hab´s gefunden unter Einstellungen - InfoDisplay- bei Fahrmodus-Ansicht den Haken rausnehmen. Dann bleibt das Comfort-Design für alle Modi.
