Not Hapy with B001314
Hi folks, new to this forum.. I have a 2013 550XI MSport.. brought it in for routine service and was told about this "Customer Care Package". 2 Days in the shop and not exactly clear on whether I had injectors or what replaced. I can tell you I had serious driveability issues following this and it had to return for another day. I am seriously not happy with the result.. I truly believe my car has less horsepower and has been detuned to some degree.. I opened up an issue with BMW on this and got nowhere.. I really do not like the terms of this recall and how a big part of this involves inspections for wear and the intervals have been shortened.. That's great when the vehicle is under warrantee, but what happens at 75K when one of these "inspections" uncover a Timing chain wear issue that was fine at 45k and now its 3-4,000 clams for the repair that's related to this recall ? Or, worse, the chain detonates and destroys the top end.. Like I said, My car has less boost and I'm thinking BMW did this to reduce strain and help prevent this engine from damage .. Would love others to chime in here..

I have about 45,000 miles and had the CCP perhaps 10-15,000 miles ago.
Same model year. I wasn't having any problems before the CCP, and have had none since. I certainly didn't notice any decrease in power in the car, and I think that is something I would have picked up on (that's why you have this car in the first place, right?). I'd stay on it with your dealer or BMW. Maybe the tech did something wrong. Who knows. I did decide to purchase an extended warranty on this vehicle a few months ago when my original warranty expired. I've never done this before, but the whole CCP thing made me uneasy. I intend to keep the car for some time, so it seemed prudent. Hope it wasn't. Bill

I have a 2011 BMW 750Li xDrive with the N63 engine.
How do I find out if my car is covered by the 10 year / 120k mile CCP warranty extension? I never received any notice and my service advisor just put claims for injectors through to my extended warranty instead of through to BMW no matter my statement that same be covered by the N63 CCP warranty extension. Why aren't all N63 powered cars covered by the warranty extension? Thank you. |

I wrote BMW, which resulted in the correspondence below.
Can someone explain why my injectors are not covered? Why should a 2010 that had injectors replaced with index 11 injectors under CCP be covered for future failure, while a 2011 with index 11 injectors not be covered for future failure. Doesn't make sense. --- I write regarding my 2011 BMW 750Li xDrive, VIN…. Does a 10 year / 120k mile warranty extension apply to the parts covered under SI B11 06 14, the "N63 Engine: Customer Care Package"? Is my vehicle covered under said warranty extension? --- Our records indicate that VIN…. has the following coverage: BMW has extended the limited warranty for the Engine Vacuum Pump on this vehicle to 10 years/120,000 miles as determined from the original in-service date. This component-specific limited warranty extension is subject to all the applicable vehicle and coverage eligibility requirements, exclusions and limitations that apply to the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty. BMW has extended the limited warranty for the cylinder head covers crankcase ventilation connecting line hoses on this vehicle to 10 years/120,000 miles as determined from the original in-service date. This component-specific limited warranty extension is subject to all the applicable vehicle and coverage eligibility requirements, exclusions and limitations that apply to the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty. --- Please advise why my injectors aren't also covered by a 10 year / 120k mile extended warranty. The injectors are a part of the Customer Care Package. --- As previously mentioned, vehicle warranty coverage is specific to a vehicle's identification number (VIN) and for your 2011 BMW 750Lxi, with VIN…., only the previously referenced coverage for the engine vacuum pump and cylinder head covers crankcase ventilation connecting line hoses exists. |

*** Has anyone here had the CCP 'completed' and then brought the car back again for replacement of parts covered under the CCP that were not replaced the first time around? ***
Same issue as dbs600 for my 3/11 550 - CCP was 'completed' 7/22/15 under the previous owner but injectors were not replaced. I purchased the car 7/30/16. 7/22/15 - vacuum pump + low pressure sensor, both MAS + intake seals, PCVs + lines replaced under CCP "Injectors OK at this time" on service report 6/6/17 - Bank 1 injectors are now 'faulty' Replace -> $2,434.79 8 plugs -> $362.43 Dealer says CCP has already been completed as does BMW NA over phone; I filed a claim and have not heard back yet. BMW NA says dealer has to take up with BMW "Field Team" for specific case and determine eligibility. |

My 550i had the CCP done before I bought it a year ago. The vacuum pump is now leaking oil into the vacuum lines. Anyone know if BMW will still cover this under the CCP?

Anyone get the gas tank/fuel pump replaced under the recall last year?
My car leaks gas badly when topped off. I've been filling up gas 3/4 tank for the past 3 months, has been to the dealer 4-5x since the recall came out LAST year Oct 2016, and not one mention. My F10 has 47k on it, 2011 model. Luckily still have a warranty until 2021, best peace of mind. I have an appointment on the 27th to replace the fuel pump, and see if the tank needs to be replaced. A short description of the recall and in-depth PDF link below. Quote:

I just had mine done. Make sure to bring it to the dealer with the tank 1/4 full because they have to drain it off.
It went fine. No issues. |

Hello everyone,
Hope all is well. Service appointment scheduled Tuesday and some insight before my visit would be helpful. The last work done to my engine was replacement of some injectors this past January. My car has since been calling for oil frequently, this past interval being a mere 655 miles. Some questions: 1. What’s the current procedure for the dealer to determine what the problem is? Is this something that will need multiple visits, where they top off oil and wait for me to return with the same problem? I’d like to get down to the problem now if possible, as I, myself, have been topping off oil upon the car’s request. 2. Does the car save / catalog each time it’s requested additional oil? How does it save this information; date, time, mileage? If so, shouldn’t this be sufficient for the dealer to see that the car has been demanding oil on a regular basis vs. my having to return to the dealer again in the future? 3. What could the possible causes be? I don’t see oil stains on the ground of where I park. Valve stems? What work is needed to replace same? A major job? Is BMW covering the costs at all? Always thought I was immune to this problem, but now an issue. I’ve also always gotten horrendous mileage, around and below 10 mpg’s. Never complained of same, but my 200 or so mile range is getting to me. Any thoughts on same would also be helpful. Thank you very much! |

spark plugs
My friend purchased a cpo 2009 750li in 2012, non stop issues and supposedly he had the package repairs done. However he went in for inspection and they are trying to hit him with the following:
REPLACE 8 SPARK PLUGS, ONE IGNITION COIL, AND ONE FUEL INJECTOR (REPLACE 8 SPARK PLUGS, ONE IGNITION COIL, AND ONE FUEL INJECTOR.) Replace power steering pump Replace oil pan gasket (Found engine oil leak) Anyone know if any of these are still covered? I swear all these dealers try to pull stuff.

2011 550xi
Currently have about 62,400 miles on the car. I also had the in-tank fuel pump recall fixed and the N63 Customer Care Package issues addressed last week. They replaced all 8 injectors, MAF sensors, vacuum hose, etc. Checked the timing chain for stretching - no issues there. Then they provided a "health report" that stated multiple leaks in the engine, oil pan gasket seal needs replacement, battery needs replacement, etc - too many to list down here (sigh). Anyway, the total repair estimate is about $21,000+.
I am going to take the car to my mechanic that I trust and have been using all these years for my BMWs and see what he really thinks - and if the problems are legit - what he will charge me for the repairs. He's so much cheaper. We'll see how this turns out. I love this car and plan in keeping it. |
