That's good power holding 300whp to redline on stock hardware, for our platform that is. I would be interested in what color your plugs are when you pull them.
Ill be doing them probably end of summer i swapped my oems to ngk one step colder gapped .2 about a week after tune as oems had way over 20k
I was doing some reading on here and supposedly the ngk plugs are 1 step colder from n54 plugs but not on the n55. Idk how true this is though. There were people arguing both sides of this. Also MHD supposedly announced in emails to some members that they will have F series flash sometime in the summer available. I like seeing more options becoming available for our cars finally.

Now that's a real +1

If MHD can crack this platform then we'll have yet again a new discovery!

Bmw doubles what plugs do u have ?

My OEM plugs are shared with M2/M3/M5/X5M and i have 20k miles on them, I will check this week their condition and gap. Debating on whether getting the NGK N20 plugs next or sticking with OEM.

I have 40k miles on the car currently and have been running a JB4 for about 6k miles of it with a steady input of E85. When do you suggest I should swap my plugs and maybe even do a walnut blast?

If you haven't swapped the plugs then yes if you're tuned. Its not uncommon to change your plugs every 10k when tuned. Walnut blasting at 40k on a N55 is not necessary. My guy who does my walnut blasting says N55 should probably look at doing that service around 80k

I've done the colder plugs, I've tapped down on other plugs to .22 and now I am just using bosch stock plugs at .27 and it's all the same. I'm pushing 19psi and tappers to 13. The new plugs feel great at .27 and I gained 1.5 mpg from my .22 previous.

I think when you're tuned just plan on replacing the plugs more frequently. Just kinda comes with the territory.

BTW how's your BM3 tune holding up compared to previous configurations you've had?

Haha plugs go faster on a tune my friend. Here's a link to that GFB DV+ blow off sound you were asking about. Its my ride just now

That's what an open air filter, removed hood rear weather stripping, GFB DV+ and MP stage 2 @19psi gets ya

We use E85 or Meth on this side of town; havent seen an N55 need a walnut blast (n54 days).
I'll inspect plugs and make sure they look healthy and are properly gapped so far 8k miles on Flash, had jb4 for 6 months.

It's amazing, the support, smooth power, doesn't fall on its face after 5500rpm, beating jb4/active8 lighter cars from 30-110mph until their weight advantage and aerodynamics come into their favor lol. Ran a few m235/335 flash tuned as well (I like to test my tweaks against friends).

Bootmod3 on 93 making better powerband than when I had jb4 with e30 mix

Plugs on tuned cars should be replaced every 8-15k miles depending on how much you drive, how hard you drive, how aggressive is your tune, what fuel you use, mods and how your car feels.

Like 3-5 hours on the n55 depending on your mechanic. Only worth it if you get a stage 2 tune or your stage 1 is putting down 19-20psi. If you want to hear more boost you can remove just the rear weather stripping and use an open air filter. You really want hear it then install DP on top of what I just mentioned. If that doesn't satisfy do everything mentioned above, turn your tune up to 19psi and install the GFB DV+

I use 5 gallons of e85 over at Consrv fuel on San Vicente and the rest 91. Its equates to about e30 or 93 oct. checking your plugs can vary from cylinder 1-6 so checking one may be misleading. If you want to spot check you can pull cylinder 6 since its the easier to get to.
http://www.gnttype.org/techarea/engine/plugs.html

And yes if you replace the plugs go OEM / bosch

Yea because most ppl dont know how to mix (start low first) and log/monitor their HPFP. The good thing is you can see this in your log and your Tune is properly optimized for your octane

So today couldn't have gone better with the car, other than hitting limitations of fuel and cooling elements..... rktunes recommended meth and or upgraded fmic after spending a full day with the car it is a MONSTER trq wise, map bar sensor upgrade and meth will allow a bit more top end power which is being affected by temps.....today in ny also hot day I included both my original dyno sheet as well as the updated one from today's session both dyno sessions were dynocom dyno first time was independently linked mobile one. This time it was in ground linked dynocom although they read a bit high i am still more than happy with the results

Both dyno sessions i was fbo (downpipe, chargepipe, intake, and muffler delete) first time i only had 2gallons of e85 vs a 7/e85 10/93 mix now

Good peak power brotha. its not a turbo limitation when power starts dropping at 5k. There is a missing map from our ecu that needs to be added. Your peak is about correct, but we can hold 310whp to redline on our stock hardware. Cooling is definitely an area we need to address FMIC and meth, but our turbos are capable of more. Let's keep pushing!

For suree!! N55s are coming along very nicely!!
