Hi Guys,

I'm really keen to get into coding up my new F11 520D, can anyone point me in the direction of software and cable requirements? Once on track I can help others out - I'm based up in Yorkshire but regularly travel down to Buckinghamshire.

OK, looking at a new 2014 F11 with the advanced parking pack -

Advanced parking package comprises:
– 3AG Reversing Assist camera
– 5DL Surround-view
– 5DP Park Assist

What additional items could be coded from these options without factory fit?

Nothing much... except the speed at which the cameras can be turned on. Usually the cameras switch off when driving above certain speeds, this speed limit can be increased.

Guru, Can I ask a question? I've just got the Esys software, token, psdzdata and so on and am just waiting on the cable.

If I want to change something from nicht_active to active (as an example) am I right in thinking that in essence you read all the parameters from the relevant module, make your change and then effectively write the entire file back?

I realise this may all become more apparent when it's in front of me but I'm a bit confused from trawling through the guides.

Also I need to "VO code" the EBT function but I'm even more unclear about that.

What I really need is a guide that shows start to finish coding of an option, e.g. to enable, say, video in motion.

Do you know if an easy to follow step-by-step guide exists?

[I do have a guide somewhere, need to search for it. I am out travelling at the moment and my coding laptop is at home. If I can find something else, I will post it here... else need to wait until 04 Dec when i am back]

Here is a guide (VO Coding.pdf) I was able to dig up. May not be compliant to the latest E-Sys but should still get you going, the concept is the same.

Pride before a fall and all that, but I've just successfully done my first batch at coding and it went without a hitch - nerve-wracking though!

I've only added some features using FDL coding; I haven't added any modules yet but I'm going to activate EBT later.

My car has the KAFAS2 Camera - Guru, does that mean if I activate Speed Limit Display in HU_NBT it will work? I don't think any other hardware is needed or will it only display on HUD?

Could someone advise on what coding possibilities there are for my car. It's a fairly standard f11 520D MSport auto, Dec13 LCI model with standard business nav.

I would love to be able to steam music with enhanced Bluetooth and would like to know if anything can be done with the voice command system. At present the voice command button on the steering wheels doesn't appear to function.

You need a FSC code from BMW along with coding for Speed Limit Display to work.

In cars prior to 2012, which had the KAFAS camera, one could enable it by just coding... but not anymore with the KAFAS2.

What is EBT?

I just realised that I have posted my earlier comment in wrong thread.

And to add that I have coding laptop for F-series. I have done some coding on NBT.

Will be updating modules of my car and then coding.

Does anybody know that at what I-level 6NR became paid? As I'll try to activate that in my cic / combox.

If you have NBT (professional) then its a matter of coding.
Not sure about business one though?

You need pro media for those options. EBT = Enhanced Bluetooth (6NS)

Started coding my car as of last night.
First thing, activated BMW application which gives me bmw internet radio. Brilliant feature IMHO.

Going to activate video in motion, digital speed and activate power and torque display

With NBT do you need an FSC code for apps? Does apps give you anything other than the radio (I have DAB so the radio app would be of little use).
